I have not read a science fiction based story in a long time but L. A. Day has me rethinking my old opinion that it has all been done to death already. I loved the enhanced male theme in this story. It is done tastefully and keeps the readers interest. Holt is a Cragon who has extra attributes that come to play when he finds his mate. Rebecca may be the woman he has been waiting for but can Holt see past her façade? Rebecca is much more than what she presents to the world but she is afraid to show it to Holt.

I enjoyed the way Holt and Rebecca interacted. Holt may come off as a domineering and uncaring man but we soon find that he has a heart of gold. The ups and downs that these two go through make for a great read and as intense as the love scenes are you can see that the two love each other immensely.

As short as this story is it still makes an impression. If you enjoy sci-fi romance then I am sure you will find this story very pleasing. I know I will certainly be on the look out for more from this author in the future.
