This story was previously published as part of the Behind The Mask Anthology. Set in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, Lily is in search of the perfect mask. Wandering down a back street, she stumbles upon Ye Olde Store. She spots a mask sitting among some romance novels and knows she’s found the perfect one. As she places it on her face, she suddenly gets a vision of herself in a Regency style dress being kissed by a highwayman. Back at the hotel and while wearing it again, she gets another glimpse of herself with the same man.

Lily and Andrew are easy to like and come across as the perfect pair of lovers that just need a little push to get them to where they should be. I liked that the author also added some paragraphs told from the viewpoint of the mask. This might sound silly, but it’s fun, humorous and I think it added to the lightheartedness of this particular story.
