Her perfect lover…

Modern day pirate Morgan Black’s life has always been immersed in the violent and traditional ways of piracy. When her family’s arch enemy puts a hit on her family, Morgan knows there’s one sure way to lift the hit; she must kidnap their enemy’s sexy grandson and literally force a union between the two warring families. Night after night, wrapped in Roman’s strong arms, she can’t deny the searing attraction blazing between them. Nor can she deny he now holds her heart as well as her life in his hands.

His dream angel…

When Roman Prince’s captor offers him her luscious body, fierce desire ignites, melting his usually tight self-control. Lust quickly turns to love as he enjoys their naughty sexual trysts more than he knows he should. But how will he react when he discovers he’s been kidnapped, not for a ransom, but for his sperm?

Jan Springer has a definite winner with Her Captive. The premise is wonderfully titillating and I thoroughly loved the gender reversal of a female pirate capturing a man to have her wicked way with him.

Be forewarned though…if you’re at all squeamish about forced seduction, the heroine in Her Captive kidnaps the hero and plans such a seduction, even though her captive is never unwilling.

I’ll admit, at first, I didn’t like the heroine, Morgan. She’s a thief who steals a shipload of marijuana from a competitor because she hates him and his tactics, then keeps the dope and sells it. Though things aren’t always as they seem, it made it difficult for me to admire her.

Inflammatory conditions like arthritis sample generic viagra are a major concern for everyone. Springer’s humor is delightful. I especially enjoyed the scenes where Morgan faces up to the reality of kidnapping and seducing an innocent man. I also liked the name of the heroine. Morgan Black is a saucy amalgamation of some pretty infamous pirate names, like Black Bart, Blackbeard, and Henry Morgan.

The tension when Morgan and her nemesis finally meet was terrific. He’s a villain with layers and although he’s utterly unredeemable, he was definitely the kind of bad guy I love to hate. I bought into the relationship between Morgan and the hero completely. The evolution of their feelings and the knocked-by-socks-off hotness of the sex was a potent mix. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Congratulations, Ms. Springer. I couldn’t put the book down. If you like your heroines tough, intelligent, funny and shaded with just enough imperfection to endear them to you, Her Captive will wind up on your keeper shelf too.
