Amelia Staker meets her Internet lover, John Quincy, for the first time in the flesh. After a year of seeing John only through webcam, she’s ready to show him a good time. Without a moment to waste, Amelia is prepared for two weeks with John—alone, with no computer screens between them—until the elevator puts a hold on those plans. Stuck in a darkened cab, their imaginations run hotter than their online trysts. Can this romance translate into a permanent future? Or will she send him packing?

Can love be found on the internet? It can when you look in the right places. And when you finally meet? Then you have the story Finally, My Love.

I love a good love story. The kind where boy meets girl, they have issues and then fall in love. I didn’t get that so much with this story. The characters have an attachment prior to the story, which is okay, but I wanted to see more. I understand this is a short story and boy, is it hot! I liked the idea of the stranded couple in the elevator. I liked that Melia and John met online. It’s very relevant to today’s reader with people trying to hook-up online. I loved that they have idiosyncrasies and still genuinely liked each other. It’s nice to see a story where the characters clicked so quickly. And when they made love, it was super hot. I felt like I was in the elevator with them.

But there were little glimpses where I wanted to know more about them. John seems to have a lot of secrets that a bit of backstory, or maybe a phone conversation earlier on might have cleared up. I got that they were enamored with each other, but things seemed to move really quickly without much background.

Still, it’s a nice quick read for a summer afternoon, with characters I won’t forget.

I recommend Finally, My Love and give it 3 cherries.

  1. Thanks for the nice review and the feedback. I met my hubby online 9 years ago, and the airport scene is pretty true to what happened…although he insists that I tell everyone we don’t have an elevator. Thanks again!
