If it weren’t for the fact that the gods had forbidden it, Princess Aladee would pray for the sweet escape of death. Unending torment as a prisoner of the bloodthirsty Tordanuk and his evil sorceress, Shivrane, has taken a mighty toll.

Chained to the dungeon wall beside her, Bax’Taran the Brave and Yevlor the Swift, both Guardians of Zalvanus and cursed shape-shifters, have taken countless lashes meant for Aladee. Brave, noble and strong, the tantalizing pair exudes raw masculinity. Their mutual connection is intense, their lusty attraction for her undeniable.

Aladee dreams of sharing freedom and passionate lovemaking with her beloveds. But with Yevlor’s strength depleted from excessive torture, she fears he won’t survive another shift into tiger form. With the thought of losing Yevlor unbearable, Aladee uses her empathic ability, intent on creating a miracle. Will their sexual bond be strong enough to help them triumph?

The bond between warriors who suffer together is unbreakable; the love that grows between them is tempered in fire and can withstand the unthinkable. Such is the background for Embracing the Tiger, the latest in the Valiant Heart series.

Princess Aladee, Yevlor and Bax’Taran met in the worst situation imaginable. Yet they find the strength to endure in each other.

Aladee has a gift that, although important, never reached such vital importance as it does in this story. She used to be loved, protected and secure in her life yet she wasn’t a prima donna. That’s a good thing because I don’t think she would have survived the extreme violations of her life and body if she were a weak and shallow person.

Both Yevlor and Bax’Taran have suffered, but being warriors they have that mindset which gives them strength to draw upon. That doesn’t mean they are invincible. No, both men are plagued with despair, fear and helplessness. Yet, the emotional bond gives them strength and it proves to be their greatest weapon in their fight to escape captivity.

Aladee has to do one amazing thing and almost has to allow for a few icky things to happen to her in order to achieve hers and the men’s goals which again, is to gain freedom.

The villains show up in all their disgusting glory. You might be surprised to know the fact that this buy cialis tadalafil is a two in one drug which mainly helps the men in erections dysfunctions. Dobbs credit. She creeped me out with her vivid descriptions of not only the vile things they did and do to the heroine and heroes, but with the beings themselves. I truly can believe that they are soulless creatures and deserve neither pity nor mercy. In fact, I think the author had to have nightmares just from writing the scenes down – they’re that effective. So, I caution readers with queasy stomachs. These evil doers make the Terminator look like a wimp.

If a reader has read anything written by Ms. Dobbs before, then there will be an expectation of sensual and inventive love scenes. In this book, I think the author reached a pinnacle. The creative use of food and frolic will surely give readers new ways to look at the bounty in their own kitchens. She’s inexhaustible in coming up with unique and interesting ways for her heroes and heroine to express their physical love. There is no question Embracing the Tiger is an erotic romance and readers will not be disappointed.

This tale incorporates magical and mystical beings, a great destiny and a prophesy coming to fruition.

It has a woman along with two men who must fight incredible odds in order to keep the future they dream of sharing together. It has daring-do and heart and is a book worth reading. Even if you’ve not read the previous two in the Valiant Heart series, that won’t detract from a reader enjoying this story because it’s all about Aladee, Yevlor and Bax’Taran and the happily ever after destined to be theirs. I’m glad I read it.

  1. Thank you so much, Xeranthemum, for your truly satisfying and beautifully written review of Embracing the Tiger. It absolutely made my day.

Your thoughtful summaries of this book–as well as Dragon by Day and Last Strathulian Standing–drew me in so much that I was tempted to purchase my own books. 😀
