Using her Internet friend to fulfill sexual fantasies isn’t a problem — until Raen meets him in person. Her desires deepen the feelings she’s always had for Dru, and now nothing will do except capturing him and making him hers.

The Dragon Kin books are a fun series to read.

Raen has an active social life–if you count the Internet and her sexual fantasies about her online friend, dragon shifter cowboy Dru. But she’s been burned by love, and fantasies are all she has, until she meets her cowboy in the flesh.

When Dru meets Raen in the bar where she works, he has no idea she’s his online friend, but he does realize right away that she is his souler, his mate. The one woman he can’t live without. But Raen has a poor self-image and can’t believe a hunk like Dru would look twice at a woman like her. Can Dru convince Raen he is truly interested in her? Will these two find what they both need in this relationship?

I enjoy the mystical island where all manner of paranormal beings mix with humans in their daily life. The characters in this book were an interesting couple. Raen is a woman who was hurt by her ex-husband’s indifference and infidelity, and has very little self-confidence about her attractiveness to men. When she first meets Dru, for example, she believes he is trying to win a bet by talking to her. But I love that she takes a chance anyway, putting her best foot forward to give this relationship a fighting chance. Dru is such a sweetheart; once he realizes that she is “the one”, he is determined to make her feel special. I enjoyed the spunkiness Raen displayed, although at times I found her a bit too self-deprecating and sarcastic.

The scene at her car is hot, and the sex in this is definitely smoking. My one regret is that this one ends with a happy for now, not a complete closure. I do hope we revisit this couple for more in the future.
