This story has found a permanent home on my shelf. Between the exceptional characters and skillful plot, I was up all night forcing myself to stay awake just so I could read more.

He needed to find out himself is she really held the same beliefs as the radical PHR group. It is also what allowed him to not kill the members of the PHR even after he knew they meant to do the same to him.

There are so many admirable facets to this plot I don’t know where to begin. The fact that Clay, Alix’s brother, was part of the problem made the plot distinct. Not only did Alix have to deal with the emotions from falling in love with Dev, but also the emotions of realizing her brother may not have been worthy of the pedestal she’d put him on since they where children. The twists and turns around each corner had me on the edge of my seat in almost every chapter. It was evident that this author knew what she was doing in writing this story.

Only two questions remained in my mind after finishing this expertly contrived story. Why had I never heard about Lynne Connolly’s works? And where could I get more of the Department 57 stories?
