Ms Hayworth has created an original world with imaginative characters. Buck has the still waters run deep thing down pat. He seems at first to be your typical cop, until he gets home or with Lian and you see a completely different side of him. Lian also has her secrets,but she lets Buck in surprisingly easily.

Although the love story is a little overwhelmed by the mystery, it doesn’t take away from the story. I really didn’t mind. Ms Hayworth manages to throw in some very intense lovemaking scenes that seemed to transcend to another level for the characters. Ms Hayworth also adds quite a bit of humor to her work which offsets the suspense wonderfully.

With a twist at the end, and a satisfying happy-for-now ending, I couldn’t ask for more. If you like suspense with your romance then definitely give this book a shot.
