Years ago, I was flying to Dallas to the Romance Writers National Conference and a gentleman sat down next to me wearing a Stetson. Okay, my contact with men who wore Stetson were cowboys from the rodeo’s I’d attended.
Now, I’m not an outgoing person, it wasn’t until we were half-way through the flight that I got up the courage to ask him if he was a cowboy. He smiled and said “Well, ma’am that depends on your definition of a cowboy.”
I must say the “ma’am” in the Texas twang made my bones melt, and why he wasn’t a rodeo cowboy, he was a rancher. We had a wonderful talk about ranching and about the rodeo.
This memory has always been one of my favorite cowboy moments.
So tell me do you have a favorite cowboy moment? It can be from a book, a movie or a cowboy you met. I’d really like to hear your cowboy story.
