A Ghoul Like You is a witty, entertaining short story. It’s a fast read and definitely leaves you wanting more. Niall is a funny man, living in a rather gothic basement and eating raw meat for survival. He never meant to eat Jamie when he picked him up in a club, but merely chew on him a little. The story can be graphic in places as the bloody meat ghouls eat to survive is depicted in gruesome detail. Yet this is always offset with humor and wry wit to help any who may be squeamish.

The author’s trademark humor is sprinkled throughout this enjoyable story. From the small details to the large, this short story is littered with great lines and sly nods. The characters and their dialogue are particular highlights and create a very engrossing story that you never want to end. The sex scene between Niall and Jamie is very sexy and surprisingly hot – considering one of the men is undead and eats flesh.

For a few dollars this unconventional story is completely worth reading. It hits many high notes and the writing is high quality. You may find yourself rooting for ghouls as the newest heroes.
