Grad student Savannah Evans is thrilled to be accepted as a resident to a prestigious art colony. Where else would she be able to focus on her craft of writing poetry in a setting like that of the medieval-styled castle? The remote New England island is a respite from her hectic city life. When she meets her benefactor, a mysterious French sculptor, her expectations for carefree days writing near the ocean are distracted by unprofessional fantasies about her sponsor.

Antoine Chevalier built Les Beaux Arts on DeRoche Island to bring purpose back to an existence that has lost meaning. He’s wandered the earth for decades and finds solace in returning to art. When Savannah applies for a residency, something about her words touches him. After her arrival, a physical attraction grows between them, which he struggles against. She deserves more than someone of his kind.

But the situation turns complicated when Savannah discovers his secret. She had suspicions about his identity, but finds the truth overwhelming. Consumed by her desire for Antoine and faced with a tough decision, she is blind to the danger that has arrived at DeRoche Island.

A protector of humanity turned hunter wracked by blood lust, poor Antoine was dealt a terrible fate. Once a proud guardian of life, he now fights every day against the hunger that would cause him to kill. No longer a pure gargoyle, but also not a full vampire either, he is something else…a hybrid. Retaining some of his gargoyle attributes, he’s more formidable than most other paranormal beasties. That strength and agility is called into action when he must fight against another creature driven by bloodlust, and protect the woman he loves without losing his own life in the process. Human by day, werewolf by night, the man has killed before, and has no qualms about doing so again. This time, he has Savannah in his sights.

Savannah expects to accomplish some serious writing while at the art colony, but she never expects the castle’s owner to hold such a fascination for her that she can scarcely focus on anything else. If her instincts are correct, he’s equally drawn to her. When his subtle hints become crystal clear, Savannah has no qualms about giving what he requests. But when Antoine’s offers of seduction keep getting withdrawn at the most inopportune moments, she grows frustrated—as most women would. As he slowly reveals his secrets, Savannah has to rethink her prior enthusiasm at becoming Antoine’s mistress. When a local dockworker is found dead with suspicious wounds, Savannah can’t help but wonder if Antoine had anything to do with it. She wants to believe he wouldn’t hurt her or anyone else, but she can’t remain ignorant to the truth right before her. She’ll have to decide if the monster lurking beneath Antoine’s comely surface is really a cold blooded killer, and better yet, does she care?

I had a difficult time identifying with Antoine and Savannah. Short stories are always tricky to write because there’s very little time for character building. The main purpose of the story seemed to revolve around Savannah and Antoine having sex. It was a repetitive build up / let down scenario. I think I was almost as frustrated as Savannah! But each time Antoine put on the brakes, Savannah—and I—learned a little bit more about this mysterious man.

Ms. Carlisle does throw in a new twist to things with Antoine’s history as it related to gargoyles. I can say it’s a first for me to read a story that entwines two very different paranormal creatures: vampires and gargoyles. One thing in particular I enjoyed about the story was some of the visual imagery Ms. Carlisle creates by incorporating more than one of the five senses into her scenes. At times, I felt as though I’d melded into the plot to see and feel what Savannah did.

Ms. Carlisle also offers some nice breaks from the sexual tension between Savannah and Antonio when Savannah ventures off on her morning walks and even takes a ferry ride home for a brief interlude and some serious thought. Being that the main scenario is at an art colony, the author also adds in the description of varying sculptures and such, which helps to remind the reader of Savannah’s location. Surrounded by a plethora of artistic talent, Savannah’s writing begins to change. No longer the mild-mannered poems she used to draft, her words have become dark and seductive, influenced by Antoine’s presence and the growing need she has inside.

There were a few instances where the author changes from third to first person. This kind of threw me off a bit. I expect a little more editing would have caught these discrepancies before publication. Overall, it was an enjoyable enough read. With a little tweaking, it could certainly be a memorable story. Though blunt, the ending seems fitting. Considering what seemed to be the ultimate goal from the beginning, there really wasn’t anything else to add. Ms. Carlisle leaves the reader with something to ponder. Will Savannah do as Antoine asks? Only the author knows.

And now the fading song of their daughter’s life has called him back to the glen.

Will tonight be the night he can reveal to her the eternal love that has kept her safe, and that will now protect her son?

This is not your typical vampire book. Aside from the usual brooding, sadness, and melancholy most lovers of these paranormal creatures of the night have come to expect from a story—yeah, that’s there—William’s character has a different cause for unhappiness with his lot in life. Just when he thought things couldn’t get any better, they go horribly wrong. Suddenly, the future he thought was within his grasp, is taken away and he’s forced to watch as the life of the ones he loves carries on without him. Life and death come to everyone, except William.

We don’t really get to know much about Mary other than she’s obviously head over heels in love with William. Despite her father’s disapproval, she hopes to marry him one day and start a family. One night of passion between them is all they have before the bloodlust of another changes their fate, leaving William unable to have the woman he loves, and Mary with an unborn child who’ll grow up without a father.

I really struggled with the story. None of it seemed to make much sense until the end when I finally figured out what was going on. I think the short length is what added to the confusion. It seems like the plot could and should have been elaborated on a bit. It was like as soon as I understood what was happening, it ended, leaving me feeling a bit cheated and left in the dark.

Some of the positive aspects of this book were the author’s ability to paint the scene with words. Ms. Nostromo has an excellent ability to create vivid imagery by including all the senses in her writing. I may not have understood the point of the plot at times, but the scenery surrounding the characters—what they felt, heard, smelled, etc.—was very clear and precise. For me, this is the type of writing that makes me feel a part of what’s going on with the characters as opposed to just being fed the details in a one-dimensional tone.

While I wished the story had continued a bit, the overall purposes of the plot were met by the end. I struggled a bit, but eventually understood the purpose of this melancholy tale and am curious as to whether or not the author’s wonderful use of word imagery shines as brightly in her other works.

This book isn’t for anyone looking for an easy, laid back tale full of erotic tension and steamy sex. I wouldn’t even classify it as an erotic story as the actual love scenes are limited to one. No, this is more for the active thinker who likes a story that digs deeper into the underlying emotions behind the main character’s brooding and sadness.

While it might leave some readers—those looking for good old erotic tale—a bit disappointed, it may reward others—those tired of the same expectations when it comes to erotic romance—with a little more to think about. Overall, it left me wondering if Ms. Nostromo has other plans for William.

Prince Drexyl of Tourmalane is intent on collecting the bounty on the four Keshpan males on board the Lynten 12. What he doesn’t expect is to come face to face with his destined mate – a woman he’d thought didn’t exist. Having come from a world where women are extinct, Drexyl is completely enthralled with the tiny human female, and willing to do anything to keep her by his side. Even take on an entire ship of Tarnans by himself.

They say that love is blind, but in Lucie’s case, it’s literal. Blinded after an accident at the auction house, Lucie is fortunate to have a decent man purchase her anyway. Cael always made sure her basic needs are met. She had food, clothes, and shelter. Even though she knows he uses some of the other girls for carnal pleasure, he never attempts to touch her in any way that makes her feel uncomfortable. But her world is suddenly about to change when he agrees to give up ownership of her in exchange for passage on a spacecraft to a new planet and a new life for him.

It’s a time when females are scarce and several alien species are on the verge of extinction if they don’t find a way to replenish their numbers, human females have become a hot commodity. Only able to see vague shadows and forms, Lucie has a very limited ability to care for herself. Dependent upon the mercy of men seemingly desperate to have a woman in their bed, she can only hope none take advantage of her vulnerability.
It works longer such as 4 – 6 hours, enough for a satisfying lovemaking session. buy discount cialis http://raindogscine.com/caddies-ganador-de-doctv-latinoamerica-iv/ -An Affordable Medication to Treat ED The cheap prices of this medicine helped people to avail the effective treatment pattern that can interact with some prescription medications, cause undesirable strengthening of other drugs, which are better than cialis and vigrx plus is one of them. To her surprise, it seems many of the males aboard the spacecraft have an interest in having her as their mate. She doesn’t understand why. Who could possibly want a woman who can’t see? One who can’t cook, sew, care for children, or do anything most mated women would do? Though many tell her she’s beautiful, she really can’t understand why they feel that way, unless they’re so desperate to have a woman they’re willing to take a blind one.

Not being one to wallow in self-pity, Lucie carries herself with as much pride and courage as she can muster. Feeling her way around the ship, she does what she can to limit the burden upon her fellow travelers. As a few of the men begin to make their interest in her more clear, Lucie starts to wonder if maybe she shouldn’t choose one of them to be her protector, among other things. Would that be so bad?

A Tourmalane warrior and son of the king, Dryxel is desperate to find a mate. Like other races, his is destined for extinction. But when it came to Tourmalane reproduction, he couldn’t just settle on any woman, only a true mate would produce children. From the moment he invades the Tarnan ship and finds Lucie stumbling down the hall, he knows she’s the one.

Like any warrior, Dryxel is headstrong and determined to get what he wants. He would have gladly fought off the Tarnan men, even on their ship and sorely outnumbered, but he wouldn’t risk Lucie’s safety. When he hears how they refer to her as being ill, and then watches as they recklessly shove her aside in an effort to get to him, he nearly goes crazy with rage. But there’s nothing he can do but let them capture him and hope for a way to escape back to his ship with Lucie in tow. Even if it causes a war between the Tarnan and Tourmalane races, he refuses to go without her.

Ms. Coulter Smith has penned an interesting world where it seems human females are on everyone’s must have list. While some races, like the Keshpans, use them for personal slaves and outlets for pleasure, there are others who would gladly fall to the ground and kiss the dirt from their feet. I really enjoyed Lucie’s character. While described by others in the story as beautiful, she’s certainly not perfect. She knows her limitations but doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for herself. Dryxel is like most warriors—big, strong, handsome, bull-headed—he’s a typical alpha male. It’s the way he treats Lucie as an equal, despite her restricted vision, that really boosts his appeal. I found the level of Lucie’s experience when it came to sex, compared to Dryxel’s lack of experience, a nice change. She wasn’t some scared little virgin. Blind or not, she knew what she wanted and proceeded to show Dryxel exactly what to do. As with any Science fiction/fantasy novel, there were some odd characteristics about Tourmalane men and procreation. In any other story, it would have seemed too far out there, but given the setting, it’s acceptable.

Probably one of the things that hindered my enthrallment of this story was the speed in which Lucie and Dryxel were decidedly in love with each other. I believe in lust at first sight, like at first sight, definite interest at first sight, and can even accept some pretty strong feelings toward someone within a short time span, but I just can’t swallow being “in love” within a day. Maybe I just take the word too literal, but true love only comes after a bit of time getting to know each other.

Aside from my own personal opinions and preferences, it was a decent story that certainly didn’t feel like a waste of my time. I don’t think I’ve read anything thus far that portrayed one of the characters as having a disability that would impact their life the way Lucie’s blindness does, and so the saving grace for this book was the author’s choice of characteristics for her characters. There’s a fine line for reviewers between being objective and nit-picking. Sometimes it’s hard to see the beauty of a story when you’re too busy fussing about things that you would have written differently. All in all, I enjoyed Cherished, and am glad to have read it.

Rhia feels herself falling fast for this Grecian God, but despite her body’s irrefutable attraction, her brain just can’t get past the age difference. Having been down the road to Heartbreak City before, she knows there’s no point in letting her allure override her common sense. However, a night of passion with the understanding that there’s not likely to be anything else doesn’t seem too reckless. After all, at her age, what’s the likelihood of ever having the a man like Caelius’ in her bed again? One look in the mirror reminds her that she’s too old, overweight, and parts of her have started to migrate south. A single night of mind-blowing sex will have to get her through all the long, lonely nights ahead. And after Caelius gifts her with an evening to remember, her expectancies come true. Or so she thinks.

Caelius has long awaited a sign from his conprobatus—his mating necklace—telling him he’s finally found his mate. Yet night after night of dancing at Heat Seekers Male Revue has produced no leads. When he accidently scratches his friend’s hummer and is forced to take cooking lessons as a form of punishment, he discovers that perhaps he’d been looking in the wrong place all the time. As soon as his gaze lands on Rhia’s voluptuous form, he expects that she’s the one. Too bad his necklace doesn’t seem to agree. When he finally manages to get Rhia alone and show her just how attractive she is and how she really turns him on, his disappointment quickly turns his hopefulness into despair. Despite what his heart feels, it seems Rhia is not a compatible mate. Rather than focus on what he can’t have and risk hurting her, he leaves Rhia the next morning and focuses on finding his true mate. Days go by and despite how many wrists he touches, he can’t get Rhia out of his mind. When his futile search for a mate brings him face to face with a psychotic stalker, Caelius decides it’s time to leave town. Perhaps putting some distance between him and Austin will accomplish two things: deter the crazy chick from the club and heal his breaking heart. He’s come to the realization that the problem must be him; he’s broken.

Well, Ms. Prater has done it again. She managed to steal my heart with yet another of her hunky alien men. This story even had a bonus as the good doctor manages to find his mate as well. While her other stories in this line have a hint of male to male attraction, this one has full man on man action so readers of strictly M/F beware. I don’t typically read a lot of M/M stories, but I didn’t mind this time because I already knew the characters so well and I was pleased when things worked out for them. As for Caelius and Rhia, once again I couldn’t help but fall in love with them. Rhia is closer to my age so it was nice to see that us older gals still have a chance at finding the man of our dreams. Despite Caelius’ younger age, his actions and behaviors really show his maturity. Just like all the other Insedi warriors, he knows the value of women and he doesn’t take his role lightly. Despite a lack of response in his mating necklace, he still wants to look over Rhia and ensure her safety. He struggles between wanting to follow his heart and needing to fulfill his purpose on Earth and obligation to Insedivertus. But all hope is not lost, a visit home to see his father and seek his wisdom presents a glimmer of hope that perhaps he’s not the one broken after all.

Ms. Prater has woven another wonderful story of love, triumph, and romance. Book five in her Fueled by Lust line, Caelius’ story most certainly lives up to the precedence set before. As Ms. Prater adds each installment, I find myself totally engrossed in the Insedi world. The characters have become like family and I’m totally eager to see what happens next. Who will find their mate and what obstacles will they face? While this story focused mainly on the internal struggles of both Caelius and Rhia, there’s still a bit of danger in the mix. The ending provides a couple of surprising twists, leaving me on the edge of my seat, anxiously waiting for number six.

For an exciting story full of passionate embraces, endearing confessions, and super steamy sex, be sure to grab Ms. Prater’s latest installment of Fueled by Lust staring Caelius Meron and Rhia Brennan. I loved this laid back tale that took me on an emotional ride as the characters battled internal demons that threaten to keep them apart. If you believe love conquers all, then you’ll be equally enthralled by yet another of Ms. Prater’s masterful fantasies.

For over a thousand years, Deacon has led his vampire brethren to live in peace amongst humans. But that was before he entered the dreams of the beautiful Rose, hungering desperately for that which he could not claim because the very laws he had set forbade it. Laws that meant certain death for the Hydden should they be broken…laws that Deacon himself might just shatter for one human. But he hungered for her blood and someone knew it.

Could he take what he desired most while still protecting himself from those who sought to destroy him? Or will Rose mourn the promise of an eternal forever if Deacon brings about his own demise?

Church going vampires who don’t drink blood…human blood, anyhow. That’s what you’ll find between the pages of Dark Mist by LaVerne Thompson and Tenaj.

Deacon is not your typical brooding vampire who sits around and pines for his lost humanity whilst loathing his bloodlust. While he certainly craves human blood, he’s forbidden all vampires from drinking it. Long ago, vampires were out of control, killing humans at will and endangering their own future. He put a stop to it by banning drinking from the vein. Even though there’s been times when younger vamps have threatened his rule or challenged his decree, Deacon governs with an iron fist and doesn’t think twice about eliminating any vampires who jeopardize the safety of their kind or humans.

Building his empire around the idea of saving souls—in more ways than one—he’s capitalized on the desire of most species to congregate and fellowship by building churches. These “safe houses” for vampires allow them to come, feed, and get the support they need. The only one allowed to drink human blood is him and it’s only to bind a human to him to protect their kind. Allowing anyone else to do so is just too risky.

Rose is a young girl who has proven herself with hard work and dedication. Her advancement at Hydden Enterprises—HE for short—was something she’d strived for. She’d lost her parents at a young age, but was graced with good stepparents who instilled a strong work ethic in her. Their encouragement and love was a blessing. She’s ready to make them proud by stepping into her new role at HE, and showing the big wigs there what a little orphan girl is capable of.

Despite her excitement and anticipation at starting a new life in a new city at a growing company, she has a few moments of hesitation. For the last few months, she’s experienced strange dreams about a man who seems too perfect to be real, dreams that leave her yearning for his touch and more. She doesn’t understand why these dreams feel so real, or why these fantasies have affected her so much. But the sight of her friend quickly dispels her unease. Krystal welcomes her into her home and soon the two pick up where they’d left off….giggling over beers and discussing everything from house renovations to battery operated boyfriends.

I have to admit, the initial thing that grabbed me about this book was the male character’s name—Deacon. It’s a rare name that I’m rather partial to because I have a son named Deacon. So when I saw this, I of course had to read it. The fact that it was about vampires made it even more tempting as I love almost anything supernatural.

The storyline itself proved interesting—I’ve never considered vampires hiding their true natures behind the façade of a church—but if you’re expecting a lot of excitement or danger, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. This was more of a “get to know you” kind of story that spans about two days’ time. The main characters, Rose and Deacon, are really just laying the groundwork for what appears to be future installments in this line. There’s plenty of hot, descriptive sex, but also a little bit of background info about both of them, which helped me get a feel for their characters.

One thing that made reading difficult was the excessive use of commas. I found myself having to reread things to figure out what the author was trying to say. Many of them were simply unnecessary. Some minor word errors and point-of-view violations also distracted me, but not as much as the commas. I think with some more editing, this could have been a much easier read.

The ending left me hanging with some major happenings occurring in the last few paragraphs, but I expect it’s a lead up to future stories. I honestly feel that this story could have easily continued as it was just starting to really get interesting when it ended. This seemed more fitting of a saga or soap opera with new installments coming at frequent intervals as opposed to stand-alone book. Hopefully the authors won’t leave their readers hanging for too long.

Vampires with a new twist…it surely got me thinking. I’m always game for a story with sexy supernaturals and intelligent women. With such a blunt ending, I’ll likely be wondering what happens next for a while to come. And if Ms. Thompson or Tenaj need any name suggestions for future sexy vamps, I also have a Jacob, Jared, and Joshua they are welcome to borrow. *wink*

The reasons why are still unknown, but Zeke will do everything in his power to find out the truth, especially when he discovers Mary was one of their experiments.

Even before the end of the month Mary becomes all he can think about, and he’s determined to keep his toy safe. Then a twist of fate lets him know she’s more than a toy. Mary is his mate. Can he overcome her fear of him and convince her to stay when her month is up?

How did she go from witnessing the slaughter of her pack, to warming the bed of their killer all in one night? Mary is mortified as she watches a neighboring pack murder her own. While she was never really very close to any of them—most wouldn’t acknowledge or even talk to her—she didn’t understand what was going on. Since when did packs attack and exterminate each other? What had her pack done to deserve this?

There were a lot of things Mary didn’t understand about shifter dynamics and politics. She hadn’t been born into this life, she’d been forced into it. The victim of a “bite and run”, the only knowledge she had about wolf shifters and her new abilities she’d learned from her pack alpha and his queen. Now they were dead. It frightened her to see so much hatred and bloodshed, but when the invading group grabs a young member of her pack, the only shifter friend she really has, Mary is compelled to intercede. Expecting her life to be forfeit in order to save the young girl’s, she’s thoroughly confused when the overbearing alpha demands her submission to any and all of his sexual whims for the next 30 days. A deal is a deal and Mary is prepared to pay in full if it will save her friend, she just didn’t expect to enjoy it so much.

Zeke was all set to totally obliterate the pack that had been involved in some downright evil activity. They didn’t deserve to live and call themselves wolves. What he didn’t expect was for one of the members to offer her life in exchange for another. He wasn’t a bad man, really, and he didn’t enjoy killing. But the pack leaders and all of its members had been involved in some shady behavior, and he suspected were responsible for the disappearances of many wolf shifters, including his own sister. You see, wolves had a certain scent about them when they were corrupt, and this pack reeked, every single member except the young girl and her voluptuous savior. As he eyed the full-figured woman who pleaded for him to spare the child, he realized that whatever evil her pack was involved in, she wasn’t a part of it. While he didn’t intend to kill anyone innocent of the pack’s crimes, he certainly wasn’t going to tell Mary that. She’d offered him whatever he wanted to spare the young girl, and what he wanted was her…on her back, on her knees, in any and every position he could come up with for the next thirty days. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. What he hadn’t anticipated is how his wolf would respond to hers, or how hers would respond to his. Suddenly, thirty days didn’t seem long enough. Less than a week into their arrangement, he realizes that a lifetime wouldn’t even be enough.

At first I really didn’t know what to think about Zeke. He seemed like a terrible person to go through and slaughter an entire pack. But as the story progressed, I realized that he wasn’t the bad guy, he was just dealing out justice as it needed to be dealt. Sometimes that’s what makes the difference between a bad alpha and a great one. Leadership comes with a price and a lot of responsibility; Zeke doesn’t take this role lightly.

Poor Mary is a victim from the get go. After being bitten by a wolf, she’s left to fend for herself and learn what it means to be a shifter. At the time, she thought her pack leaders were showing her kindness by taking her in—even if no one really seemed to like her—but as Zeke begins uncovering the truth behind her pack’s disturbing activities, she realizes that the last eighteen-months had been a lie. Horrific memories secreted by her wolf and a drug-induced amnesia had kept her ignorant to what was really going on. Now, with Zeke’s help, she’ll discover the real reasons for her pack leaders’ superficial kindness as well as how to embrace her inner wolf.

While I really enjoyed The Alpha’s Toy by Sam Crescent, there were some things about the dialog that annoyed me. In particular, it felt like the author repeated the same thing to get a point across when it wasn’t necessary. For instance, when the hero tells his friend to take Mary to the kitchen for food in one sentence, he doesn’t need to say make sure she gets some food in the next. He’s already made the point that he wants her to eat. Some things just felt redundant or unnecessarily wordy. Even though this did bug me a bit, it did not deter me from reading or liking the story. I just think it’s something that could be cleaned up a bit to make it an even better story. The plot, the characters, and the sex—which there was quite a bit of, by the way—were all very good. The author does well with moving things along and tying up loose ends. Overall, I think it’s worth the read and the little things that needled me may not bother others.

This may be a forced arrangement, but Mary doesn’t seem too upset about her lot once Zeke makes good on his promise to be buried balls deep inside her. I can’t say that I blame her. A big strapping alpha male wants to make you his own personal sex toy and introduce you to things you’re body’s been craving for months without relent…doesn’t sound too bad to me either. It’s kind of comical to see the emotional and behavioral changes in Zeke when he begins to recognize Mary as more than just a toy. She may not realize it, but she has his heart in one hand, and his ball bearings in the other.

The Alpha’s Toy by Sam Crescent offers super-hot wolves with all their snarling, domineering maleness; full-figured gals that are anything but helpless or without a bite of their own, and plenty of toe-curling sex that got my heart racing. It a good story that proved well worth my time to read.

Corporate spy Carew Sloan is sent to Zagreb, Croatia, to retrieve information for a private intelligence agency. Carew’s beauty and talent for computer decryption make her the natural choice for this sensitive mission. After charming her mark, Vasilije Juric, in one of Zagreb’s swanky dance clubs, Carew finds herself in Juric’s bedroom. It will take only a moment to gather the information she was sent for and make her escape. Or so she thinks.

Unfortunately for Carew, Juric has a keen-eyed bodyguard, Zoran, who pegged her instantly as trouble. After a high speed chase, he retrieves Carew from her wrecked car. Rather than turn the stunning spy over to his merciless boss, Zoran takes matters into his own hands and keeps the girl … as his captive. Zoran’s keen intelligence, striking features, and powerful physique prove hard to resist, and soon their mutual hostility takes a backseat to the torrent of lust neither can deny.

What other dangers await them both beyond Zoran’s lair?

This sneaky cat burglar is about to meet her match in wit, skill, and determination. Zoran is like a bulldog with a bone. He smells something funny going on and he’s not about to get duped by the far-too-attractive female his boss has his eyes on.

A gun for hire, Zoran has done some things he’s not overly proud of. But one thing he does pride himself on is ferretting out the truth. He’s never shot anyone who didn’t deserve it and he’s not about to start now. When his suspicions prove right and he discovers that the resourceful woman has not only gotten the drop on his Casanova boss, but has also made off with some documentation from Juric’s files, he’s determined to apprehend the sly girl and find out what’s going on. While his boss expects him to “eliminate” the problem, Zoran can’t bring himself to kill her. Something about her sparks more than just his curiosity about what she’s after. And truth be told, he really doesn’t like Juric anyway.

Carew senses she may be in over her head when she meets Zoran’s assessing gaze. His presence makes her uneasy and she has a feeling he’s going to make her job difficult. Nothing seems to get past his scrutiny. Everything about him screams virility and were circumstances different, she might even be tempted to explore her attraction a little further. But as it was, she had a job to do and Zoran was not in her plans. Juric was suspected of stealing her client’s design and it was her job to find the proof. All she needed to do was get inside his multimillion-dollar mansion, put him out of commission, and hack into his computer. It sounded easy enough for someone with Carew’s expertise. Any other time, it would have been. Unfortunately, she’d never encountered a body guard like Zoran before and he had no intention of making anything easy.

Ms. Christine Edwards has penned a deliciously dangerous and tantalizing tale of burglary gone horribly wrong. While Zoran could certainly have handled things differently when he caught Carew—most body guards in his position probably would have—the way he responded is what set him apart and made me take a harder look at his underlying character. While he first comes across as a typical thug working for a rich man used to getting his way and cutting down anyone in his path, there’s a lot more to Zoran that meets the eye. I didn’t necessarily agree with all his methods of extracting the information he wanted from Carew, but he lacked any real maliciousness behind his actions. I think he was at a loss as to how to deal with her. She was completely unlike any of his other adversaries, and deep down, he really didn’t want to hurt her. As the days pass, it becomes obvious that Zoran is keeping Carew alive for more reasons than just to get information out of her.

The story is told in first person and switches between Carew and Zoran’s point of view. At first, it was a bit awkward as I haven’t read too many books in first person, but as the story progressed I found myself getting into the characters’ heads a little easier. It actually ended up being a nice change. Overall, I really enjoyed Captured in Croatia. I guess I’ve always had a propensity for tales about capture and forced seduction. Call me deviant, but I like the old bodice-rippers. Captured in Croatia, to me, was a bit like a modern-day bodice ripper. While Carew isn’t the typical weak female—she’s skilled in martial arts and can certainly take care of herself—Zoran pretty much renders her helpless, leaving her almost defenseless against his intentions. Most women in her situation would probably have resorted to tears and begging, but Carew is very strong-willed and it takes a lot for her to finally give in. I think this only sparks Zoran’s interest even more. He’s not used to being defied and Carew’s insistence on disobedience really gets to him.

In this test of wills, who will break first? Captured in Croatia offers an exciting read filled with the thrill of being captured, the eroticism of bondage, and the titillation of forced seduction. I’m not talking rape. Zoran doesn’t do anything to Carew that she doesn’t want, no matter how much she’d like to deny it. I thoroughly enjoyed the story from start to finish. It had a nice hook at the beginning and a completely satisfying end. It was well worth my time.

Emperor Lucien Tarquinius agrees to retrieve the future king of a race that annihilated every Insedi female and doomed his planet’s future. Why would he do such a thing? Simple. He cannot have his enemy retake the throne and continue the war against Insedivertus. Yet an unexpected encounter changes everything.

One reviewer could not imagine how anyone could have canada super viagra contemplated such a take without eventually committing suicide. That’s the reason why it’s important for a man to have information about this problem, its occurrence and soft tabs cialis solutions. Mertz is a member of the Fine valsonindia.com free generic viagra Arts League of Cary, the Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, and the Durham Herald-Sun. Men who are suffering from penile problems and didn’t receive any effective result from the valsonindia.com cialis prescription cost various treatments, should use Kamagra tablets. Just one day away from collecting the reluctant ruler, the royal transport inexplicably disappears from its flight path. As the empire scrambles to find their missing emperor, Lucien embarks on a journey that challenges his intellect, tests his endurance, and pushes his emotions to the breaking point.

Tana Jameson wonders who she pissed off to warrant an investigative assignment aboard a cargo ship in the middle of the Atlantic. A moment of curiosity jettisons her into an alien world beyond her imagination and directly into the arms of a man stepping right out of her wildest fantasy.

Imagine going from not believing in space aliens, to being captured and forced into slavery by a brutal race of barbarians with blue skin and yellow eyes. Tana knew she’d pissed someone off royally when she got the crap job out on the Atlantic, but she never envisioned washing clothes and peeling potatoes in her job duties. For over a month, Tana is ordered to complete various maid-like duties and is provided with the basic necessities needed to survive, but she certainly doesn’t plan on being a slave any longer than she has to. Making use of her various skills in combat and survival, she attempts to escape. Unfortunately, her captors have some very unique weaponry and manage to maintain the upper hand. Her latest foiled attempt strips her of what few privileges she did have, and lands her in her captors’ dungeon. While she’s at least given her own cell, she has no privacy and no freedom. But it’s not all bad. She does happen to meet the most gorgeous group of men she’s ever laid eyes on, one of whom happens to be situated in the cell directly across from hers. Everything about him screams virility and strength. Suddenly, despite her bizarre predicament, she sees a light at the end of her dark tunnel. There may be a way out of this crazy situation, and if she’s lucky, she’ll have the help and protection of her own group of warriors.

Lucien is the type of man who can maintain his composure even in the face of adversity. He knows he and his men are in a bad situation, but there’s a confidence in him that belies the odds stacked against them. He bides his time and analyzes everything, waiting for the opportunity for he and his men to escape. The only thing that throws a monkey wrench in his plans is Tana. Of all the places to find a female that might just be a perfect match for him… Lucian’s attraction and affection for Tana grows each day, as does his desire to protect and rescue her. If they can finagle the odds in their favor, he has no doubt his warriors will prove superior to their captors’ combat skills, but it’s no longer just about them. He won’t deny Tana has some unique talents, especially for a woman, but she is simply no match for one of them. Against his better judgment and before he can stop himself from making a monumental mistake, Lucien gives in to his body’s demand to touch her. As soon as the electrifying bolt shoots through his core, signifying their compatibility, he’s lost. Escaping their prison camp has suddenly become only one of his impending hardships. He’ll soon have to decide between selfishness and selflessness. If he claims Tana for his mate, he could possibly destroy the head-strong, nature-loving woman he fell in love with by forcing her into a confined life of politics and lies. If he sets her free, he’ll have to learn to live with a broken heart. Either way, he seems destined for misery.

At this point, I’ve just given up deciding on which book in this series is my favorite. Ms. Prater has once again surpassed my expectations. I immediately fell in love with both Tana and Lucien. In previous stories, Lucien made limited appearances and always seemed to loom in the background as this strong, untouchable figure that had a name, but not an overabundance of character, which made sense as it wasn’t quite his time. Here, he’s the star and boy, what a powerful one he is. While he’s certainly older than the main characters of previous installments—he’s the father of one, in fact—I finally got to see the youth in him. Suddenly, I removed him from the category of being “older” and placed him in the arena of the other Insedi males whose very presence commanded my attention because on their physiques, their emotions, and their alpha temperaments, and not simply because of their political status. Quite simply put, I fell in love. Again. I believe that if Ms. Prater were to come to me and offer me any one of her Insedi men, I’d have a near impossible time choosing. But it’s not just their gorgeous bodies that have me swooning, I think it’s the deep-rooted need and determination to protect their women. Call me a bit old-fashioned, but I yearn for a guy to make me feel like the most precious gem on the planet. Having him crave my body with insatiable desire doesn’t sound too bad either. Put them together and you just don’t get any more perfect than that. I’m afraid Ms. Prater has ruined me for the common man. While I don’t expect I’d find someone who can mist or live for hundreds of years—never say never—surely there’s a few guys out there who might come close to the perfectness of the Insedi male.

Book one caught my attention, book two had me hooked and asking for more, book three caused my addiction, and book four fed my habit. Now I’m left sitting here hoping for more, like a junkie strung out on alien men. Once again, Ms. Prater, I believe you have a few stories left to write. Leaving any of these mouth-drooling guys without a mate just seems downright wrong. And if you’re in need of a willing female, I’m your gal.

Sadly, I’ve reached the end of a story about one of Ms. Celeste Prater’s wonderful Insedi men. I could probably come up with a fancy way to say how great it is and why everyone who loves a little science fiction with their warrior should read it, but when it comes down to it, quite simply put, I loved it. No ifs, ands, or buts. Ms. Prater has weaved a magical world with memorable characters and meaningful dilemmas and I’d like to thank her for being so spectacularly creative. Her stories have touched my heart from many different angles and I’m so grateful I’ve gotten to read them.

In the Aeon Empire, the bloodline rules everything…

Radek Nikolaev, alpha of the packs, whose ancestors were conquered by the vampyres, vows that enslavement of his kin doesn’t come without payback. As retribution, he wants to plunder the Aeon King’s most prized possession, his only daughter and heir, Vita, as he leads his pack out from Aeon.

This is the reason that the doctors cialis for order are getting well trained at present. This has made people to order Kamagra in due prescription du canada viagra course of time. This dysfunction is quite common among women and to help those who are suffering from diabetes, prostate cancer, fatigue and body sildenafil super pains to name a few. generic cialis 100mg Condition like intimacy anxiety is the fear of emotional closeness that occurs with the other partner. Vita Petrienko has always harboured deep feelings for the outcast wolf prince. When Radek kidnaps her, Vita is more than a willing participant. She has always wanted a taste of the forbidden.

But neither of them anticipate the uncontrollable fire between them once their passion is unleashed. Primal instinct draws them to each other’s arms. When they are torn apart, will their instinct reunite the two star-crossed lovers back together?

His plans weren’t going as expected. His prisoner should be crying with fear, begging for mercy, and pleading for her life. Instead, she perched on the bed as though her predicament wasn’t dire. Her people, vampyres, hated his kind. By all rights, as a lycan, he should despise her. But try as he might, he just couldn’t bring himself to feel the anger and need for revenge that set him upon his present course. The ideas of ravishment and plunder flew right out the window when he looked upon her innocence and beauty and felt something more than vengeance come to life.

Maybe he’d forgotten, but Vita had not. Despite the rivalry between their species, she’d loved Radek since childhood. Circumstances had torn the young lovers apart, but his absence had only strengthened her affection. He’d made her a promise and she’d waited years in eager anticipation of him fulfilling it. She didn’t care if Lycans were considered slaves among her kind; to her, Radek’s beast was beautiful, fascinating, and rugged. She’d dreamed of the day he’d come for her, and finally that time was now. Despite his ulterior motives and his reservations, she intended to remind him of the feelings they once shared as children, and hoped he’d now act upon them as a man.

Radek was at a loss. This was not how he’d planned things out. She was his pawn for safe passage out of Vampyre territory, nothing more. Though his brain kept telling him to refuse her advances and deny the desire growing within him, the beast inside demanded he take what she freely offered, and more. Within moments, Vita breaches his defenses and has him molded like putty in her hands. He knew he should send her back to her father, virtue intact, but the thought of her marrying another man set his blood to boiling. He may have suppressed the feelings he’d had for her when they were young, but it took scarcely a touch of her hand to remind him fully how much he loved her. While his brothers and fellow Lycan’s weren’t too keen on the whole idea, Radek decided that no matter where they went, Vita was coming with them.

Ms. Lee has penned a tantalizingly sweet little tale full of big bad wolves, vampyres, and a little bit of magic. The journey for these lover is rocky, to say the least. Seems fate is always against them. Just when freedom looms on the horizon, Vita is forced to make a decision that changes her dreams of being with Radek forever. Radek’s pain at her loss is palpable. Angry at the turn of events, I ached with him. But all is not lost. A surprising twist at the end left me with a smile and a heart full of warm fuzzies. While some of the plot seems a bit cliché—Lycans subservient to Vampyres—Ms. Lee has taken the idea and added some little surprises into the mix. It’s always nice to see something new and this quaint little tale didn’t disappoint.

Vampyres and Lycans, it doesn’t get much better than this. If you’re an avid reader of paranormal beasties and you like a good measure of steamy sex in your stories, then you’ll probably enjoy Instinct by Lizzie Lynn Lee. It’s a quick read with a fast pace that wastes little time in getting to the good stuff. My only complaint? I wanted more. Perhaps Ms. Lee plans to expand on her characters in future installments. I know I’ll be quick in line to read them.

Vampires are real… as is the fact they will only ever take one woman. Their Eternal Bride.

When Angelo sees Darcy he knows she is his Bride. Her sapphire blue eyes match his exactly. But he must wait to claim her. He fears he has lost her forever when she disappears.

Five years pass before he finds her again. Just when things start heating up between them, Darcy is taken by their enemies. Angelo must fight to free his one true love. Will he be in time?

After years of searching, Angelo has found his eternal bride. Problem is, she doesn’t even know he exists. For the time being, Angelo knows that’s probably the only thing saving her from the Nobles. For centuries, the order of the Nobles has made it their life passion to hunt and destroy vampires. Knowing the easiest way to catch their prey was to steal an eternal bride, the Nobles target all brides, especially newfound ones. However, they don’t just capture a vampire’s bride and hold her prisoner. A newly claimed bride is a real prize, for the union of a vampire bride and a Noble produces a Noble with exceptional power and strength, a coveted offspring indeed. Unfortunately, the brides aren’t willing captives and therefore must suffer through being raped during their fertile time. It’s truly a barbaric practice for an order that considers themselves “Nobles”.

Angelo can’t claim Darcy until she’s 23 years old. Fearing the safety of his bride until he can she’s of age, he decides to remain in the shadows and just watch for a while, waiting until he could confront and claim her. Nevertheless, the Nobles are one step ahead of his plan, before he knows it, his bride disappears and it’s a long six years before he’ll find her again.

Darcy knows a little about vampires and eternal brides, but not enough to really consider that she may be one of them, and a special one on top of that. Abandoned as a young child, she’s had a lifetime of heartache and loneliness. It’s no wonder she jumps into a relationship with the first man that pays attention to her. Karl seems to appear out of nowhere and promises her all the things in life she longs for, particularly love. But love is blind and there’s more to Karl than Darcy knows. His motives are far from admirable. In the world of immortals, there’s a good side and bad. Let’s just say Karl does not have Darcy’s best interest at heart. It’s all about saving ass, specifically, his own.

The beginning of Sapphire Angel goes through a blur of time. The prologue introduces some of the main characters and gives the reader a little bit of background about vampires and eternal brides, and then the story jumps ahead six years. It seemed a bit odd that Angelo couldn’t find Darcy after she disappeared. He’s described as being pretty well off financially. I would imagine that a vampire with unlimited resources could find anyone they wanted quickly. When he does find her, it’s in the same place he’d found her initially, which makes me believe she never went very far away to begin with. There are several instances throughout the book that describe the technology as a bit archaic for both the Nobles and vampires, considering their described wealth. I found myself having a hard time accepting the plot at times. It just didn’t seem to jive.

Character development was minimal. We do get an acceptable amount of Darcy’s history, which explains some of her emotional hang-ups, particularly concerning commitment and attachment. She’d been abandoned as a child—or so she thinks—by her mother and father. It’s easy to see why she’s starving for affection, but some of her choices seem a bit reckless. She goes home with a man she doesn’t know not once, but twice from the bar. When Angelo finally confronts her, she seems to accept the fact that he’s a vampire and she’s an eternal bride pretty quickly, no questions asked. I do get that she’s just caught her boyfriend cheating on her and probably feels like getting even. Angelo sounds tempting. I might have done the same thing myself. She does regain some of her common sense when Angelo goes to claim her and she puts the brakes on. It’s a big decision and I was glad to see she didn’t rush into it under the influence of alcohol and a broken heart. It’s also proves to be a saving grace later on when it’s mating time in the Noble stronghold.

Angelo is a charming fellow. His whole world revolves around Darcy. When she’s taken from him a second time, his distress is palpable. The second part of the book really began to draw me in as I watched the steps he takes to not only save his bride, but others as well. We also learn quite a bit more about Darcy’s past when she meets an unexpected relative in the Noble’s stronghold. Even Karl manages to redeem himself, before the end.

While I think some things could have been ironed out a bit more, overall the story was enjoyable and made for a pleasant afternoon read. The Nobles certainly have a powerful ploy in bringing their prey to their knees, but the vampires quickly show them that while they might be down, they certainly are not out. One false move, the tables suddenly turn and all Hell breaks loose at several Noble strongholds across the globe. I liked how the author left us hanging in the epilogue, hinting the possibility of another story in this saga. I for one am curious to see what might happen next.
