Reading Alexander’s POV made me feel like a “fly on the wall”. When I read the Pearl Trilogy (Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl, and finally Shimmers of Pearl) he was such an enigmatic and powerful character, I could not help but wonder what he was thinking and what his motivation was. Now, finally, we get an in depth understanding of what was happening from his POV.

Although it may be hard to imagine a twenty-five year old man like Alexander falling in love with a woman fifteen years his senior, we now understand his level of maturity combined with Pearl’s beauty and extraordinary inner soul are the most alluring traits for him. Like two halves of the whole seeking its pair, they are attracted to each uncompromisingly.

I still think the Pearl Trilogy is one of the most powerful series of books I have ever read. The love scenes astounded me. Now, after reading Alexander’s version, the love scenes are even more powerfully moving and full of erotic romance.

This book is well written, with characters well defined where you become so involved it plays in your mind like a movie. It is refreshing and about time, that someone wrote a love story of a forty year-old woman and a twenty-five year-old man. She is old enough to appreciate the love affair; he is mature enough to appreciate her. At her age let no one say that feelings and passion cannot consume you. These two are on FIRE! I could not put this book down.

I am eagerly waiting for book #2 of Alexander’s POV due out in October 2013.
