Clare and her group of vampires, fae and werewolves want to live on Earth. To do that, they must heal the worlds they have been visiting through the portals.

Vesi, is an albino vampire and Heln, is a white werewolf. Neither has been accepted by their people. This unlikely couple tries to fight their growing attraction to each other while helping to save two worlds.

On one world, a mist is closing in so nothing will survive. On the other, the High Priestess Sari is at war. Her power is failing and she wants to use Vesi’s blood so she can live forever.

Can Heln save his love and help his friends save both worlds. Will their group ever get to Earth?

Enjoy an Excerpt:

Heln ran across the deck as he watched Vesi fall. Everything seemed to slow down and yet he knew it had been only a second since the lightning streaked across the sky and hit her chest. It might as well have hit his chest, for he thought his world was being wrought in two. He knew one thing for certain. If she died he did not want to live. How could he have changed so much in such a short time?

He had grown up hating bloodsuckers. One had killed his mother and the pain still ran deep. He was a soldier and a hard man; he needed to be to survive. All his life he had been an outcast amongst the wolves and more than anything he wanted to belong. He always hoped when he imprinted on a wolf female, the clans would then accept him.

Heln knew that would never happen now as he felt the tug of his heart going towards Vesi. His yearning for her gave him a physical ache in his chest. His acceptance within the clans had always been tenuous at best. The clans considered a white wolf a bad omen and he would have been killed before now if he could not fight so well. His mother always protected him when he was small, but once she was gone he fended for himself. All his life he needed to prove himself to get respect and now would be no different. He would fight these feelings he had for Vesi, and not give up on his dream of being part of the clan.

An Interview with Trevi, from World Change

What is your name? My name is Trevi. Clare says there is a fountain in her world called the same. She said people throw coins in the fountain in hope that they might return. I hope one day we shall go there together. Clare’s name for what I am is vampire; on this world I am called a bloodsucker.

What is your hair color? Eye color? I have shoulder length brown hair. My eyes are blue in color but when the bloodlust takes me they become white. I fear I scared Clare the first time she saw it happen. Plus my fangs gave her a bit of a shock.

How old are you? That is a tricky one. From what I can tell I am about seventy years old. My body has stopped aging though. I would say I probably look about twenty seven years old. I never knew my mother but was told she was human. I was growing in her womb and was changed by a bloodsucker from another world.

Where were you born? Where have you lived since then? Where do you currently call home? I was born in the capital and lived with the High Priestess for many years. Recently I lived with my servant Hyfa. Now Clare and I live on the road. We are hunted and must try and leave this world.

Who are you closest to? When I was young I was close to the High Priestess Sari. Then I learned she was lying to me. For many years the only person I trusted was my servant Hyfa. Now I have my love Clare and my best friend Luca. I can’t imagine life without them.

Who is your funniest friend? Luca. He is young and handsome and believes every young woman is interested in him. I can’t wait until he meets his match.

What is your biggest fear? That Sari will win and I will lose Clare. I fear that I would be lost in my grief and unleash my anger on this world.

What or who is the greatest love of your life? Clare. She is the most amazing woman. She is strong and accepts whatever is thrown at her. I have been an abomination for so long living off the blood of others. I am still humbled by her love for me.

Which living person do you most despise? High Priestess Sari. She killed Clare’s sister and lives off the essence of offworlders she brings through her portal.

What is your greatest regret? I have killed so many people over the years. I try to live on animal blood but if my friends are threatened and the bloodlust takes over I find it hard to stop. I cannot undo the past.

What do you most value in your friends? They believe in me and trust me. I have only known such a short while and I know I am the darkness that people fear will come in the night.

On what occasion would you lie? If it would give me time to save those I love.

What would you do to save someone you love? Give my life if I could.

Do you believe in luck? After living so long I think luck may happen but it does not always favor the righteous.

6_10 Cover_World ChangeClare gets transported from present day Florence to an alternate world, one that looks like fourteenth century Italy. The only way back is through a portal half a world away, plus the local High priestess wants her dead, and the only one she can trust is a vampire called Trevi. He is the only one who exits in this world, and she knows more about what he is than he does. He is hard to resist, especially when he saves her life. Trevi can take her home but he is keeping one big secret. She will have to be like him to survive the journey through the portal back to her world making a myth a reality.
