On a lush, secluded island, one passionate adventure leads to another….

Diana Fletcher means business. The beautiful, innocent, reverend’s daughter has traveled all the way to a tropical island off Madagascar on a mission: To find her brother—and to punish the man who drove him to a life of piracy. But when she comes face to face with the enemy in question, the handsome, powerfully seductive man is not at all what Diana expected…

Tristan Kent never intended to harm Diana’s brother. A man of humble origins, Tristan claims he tried to save him from another ruthless captain. Diana is desperate to believe he is telling the truth…and that the intoxicating desire that escalates between them is true as well. But can she trust him? Or is Tristan’s story—and his heart—nothing more than fool’s gold? Amid the haze of sensual delights and soaring ecstasy Tristan has in store for her, all will be revealed…

For a young woman swept into international adventure, romance can’t be far behind…

The 1920s are in full swing when Sadie Loudon leaves her grandfather’s stodgy vicarage, and she dreams of the glamour and excitement she’s seen on the silver screen. But before she even begins work at the storied Grand Russe Hotel, she is ushered into London’s glittering nightlife by a handsome young businessman intent on introducing her to the pleasures available to a Bright Young Thing. Is it a fleeting romance…or something even more intriguing?

Les Drake is on the lookout for Bolsheviks when he encounters sweet, sexy Sadie. A British Secret Intelligence agent, Les has more experience with the seedy underside of the city than with innocent chambermaids, but he can’t deny that Sadie tempts him. Using her as part of his cover seems like a brilliant plan until the danger of his assignment threatens what has suddenly become a love he can’t bear to lose…

Enjoy an Excerpt from I Wanna Be Loved by You:

Les glanced between the two women. His gut told him that they were not compatible. Sadie was too fresh and uneducated to appeal to this cosmopolitan refugee. Not like the young wife from Acton who was desperate for a friend. When Glass had given him orders he hadn’t accounted for Sadie’s youth. She was only a chambermaid, after all.

“What time is the rally?” he asked Semyon in Russian.

He responded in kind. “In an hour. Will I see you there?”

Les nodded. “I need to pay a couple of sales calls on bookshops here and then we will go to the docks. Will your wife come along?”

Semyon nodded and took his own bowl of soup off the tray. “She is very political.”

“Mrs. Rake is not educated in these matters.” Les spooned up the last couple bites of his borsht. There likely wouldn’t be time for food later.

“She’ll learn,” Semyon said. “What is her background?”

“Orphan,” Les said, not wanting to reveal more.

“English through and through, right?”

Les nodded and put his and Sadie’s bowls on Semyon’s tray, then poured overbrewed tea from the pot into his empty cup.

“Why did you marry her? Money?”

Les was glad they were still speaking in Russian. He let his gaze peruse the length of the skinny brown bow detail on Sadie’s cream dress. The ribbon slid down her chest between her breasts, revealing their buoyant shape underneath the thin fabric. He glanced back at Semyon, who smirked.

“A young man must have his pleasures,” Semyon said.

“Your wife is very beautiful,” Les told him. Sadie’s eyes went to him. The color matched the stormy sea now. He realized he had missed an exchange between her and Irina Kozyrev. When he glanced next to him he saw Irina was putting the nesting doll together, then, when at last the matryoshka was back together, she put the doll into the gift box and placed the lid on top, then slid it into her handbag.

Shocked, he let his hurt show as he moved his gaze back to Sadie.

She shook her head slightly, as if warning him of danger. Next to her, Semyon was devouring his soup. Sadie pushed a plate of brown bread to him and he took a piece without looking up.

Les stared at his erstwhile wife. Had she given Irina the dolls because she was afraid of her, or was there some deeper game? What had the girl sensed about her role here? Irina set her handbag on her lap, her lips curving with genuine satisfaction. With a last look at Les, Sadie deliberately moved her attention to the other woman, smiling.

Irina laughed.

Sadie had done the unexpected and turned the assassin’s daughter into an ally, it seemed.

Sugared violets, buttercream…but he craves her kiss most of all…

Orphaned as a boy, Ewan Hales is proud to make his living as secretary to the manager at Redcake’s Tea Shop. But the startling news that he’s heir to the Earl of Fitzwalter changes everything. While tendering his resignation to lovely Matilda Redcake, however, Ewan is struck by her spirit, the luscious bow of her lips—and a realization. Matilda might not marry a working man—but will she wed a future nobleman?

Ewan’s unruly hair and roguish kisses are tempting, but Matilda has far too many problems to consider romance. With sabotage at a cake factory threatening the family empire, she must focus her considerable willpower on keeping Redcake’s from ruin—until she learns that her young son has been kidnapped. Together, she and Ewan must uncover the truth before they can savor the sweet freedom of love…

Enjoy an excerpt:

“Ah, Mr. Hales,” said a portly gentleman in a dandruff-bedecked black suit as he entered the room from some inner chamber. He gave Ewan a searching glance.

“Yes, sir.” Ewan stood and shook hands with the solicitor. “I confess I do not know why I was summoned here. What was the purpose of your letter?”

“The matter was too delicate to put into writing.” The man glanced over him again.

Ewan knew his appearance to be impeccable, other than his untamable hair, so that couldn’t be the reason for the man’s curiosity. “I cannot take much time away from my duties, Mr. Norwich. Could you please be brief?”

The other man sat down, seeming to expand to fit his chair, with the air of one who planned a conversation of considerable length. “What do you know about your family?”

Ewan slicked back his hair as he considered this, his tension heightening from the intent of such a question. Was a legacy due to him? Every orphan, even one of twenty-seven years of age, imagined lost relatives out in the world hoping to find him.

Pursuing this elusive heiress will be the ultimate temptation…

Lady Elizabeth Shield is used to saving herself from trouble. And even if dashing private inquiry agent Dougal Alexander just rescued her from white slavers, she’s definitely not returning to her stifling aristocratic life and unsuitable suitors. Not when there are other women in danger—and a secret promise to keep in Edinburgh. But outwitting Dougal’s tactics to return her to London and her family will be easier than staying away from his intoxicating kisses…

He’s a baron’s second son accustomed to making his own way and uncovering the truth. Now Dougal must keep Lady Elizabeth close for her own protection, but her spirited wiles are proving scandalously irresistible. His most difficult case yet will be showing her that he’s everything she truly desires—and that love is the greatest of adventures…

“Before I realized it, the unusually strong and well-developed characters of The Kidnapped Bride had sneaked up on me and captured my full attention. This is one of the best shorter books I have ever read.” –Delle Jacobs, author of Lady Wicked

Enjoy an excerpt:

“Look here, eh?” Dougal said. “Enough about your damned family. Our concern here is Lady Elizabeth. Ye turned her into your maid-of-all-work, right? Payback for whatever you think Lord Judah here did tae your sister? That was Lady Elizabeth answering the door at your flat last month, right?”

Manfred pressed his lips together and looked surly. Lord Judah’s expression was a mixture of horror and bewilderment.

“How could you do that to a gently bred girl?” Hatbrook demanded. “She must have loved you, to follow you like that. What did you do to make her run away from us?”

Manfred shrugged. “Beth’s headstrong, you know that. No one was more surprised than I to find Beth sneaking into my room in the border inn where I staying.”

“Why didn’t you bring Beth back, as a gentleman would?” Hatbrook shouted.

“I wasn’t about to marry her,” Manfred snarled. “She ain’t my sort.”

Hatbrook slapped the boy openhanded across the cheek. “That’s my sister! You’ve ruined her life! Whatever you want to say about your sister, my brother has given her an honorable marriage and an excellent home.”

“Beth bloody ruined it herself,” Manfred said, standing as his cheek bloomed red. “She followed me. I made her no promises. She refused to go home. So I set up house in Edinburgh, found a way to make money. But I didn’t marry her.”

“No, you just made her your whore,” Hatbrook said.

“I never touched her,” Manfred said, more quietly.

Porch books
By Heather Hiestand

Thoughts of summer bring thoughts of beach books, or in my case, porch books. I like nothing more in the summer than to sit outside on my porch swing in the evening, when it is cooler outside than in, and read a book. Usually my husband and son are inside watching television with the air conditioning blasting, so I am actually alone for a change.

heather Outlander-TV-cover (2)Since I can concentrate completely when I am reading, I tend to want to read something more substantial than usual, such as a longer book, or work through a series. This summer is probably the summer of the Outlander series for me. I read the first four books in Diana Gabaldon’s series back in the 1990s when they first came out, then never got back to it. Now I’ve got all of the books downloaded to my Kindle and I’m on book two already, rediscovering the many delights of Jamie Fraser.

If you are looking for a new series for summer’s long, lazy evenings, I have one for you! I’m working on book six in my Victorian-set historical series, and books one, two and three are available now, with books four and five out in September and October. Start with Marquess of Cake, which I guarantee will make you hungry for trifle and cake, then continue on with the delicious One Taste of Scandal. Next, try more exotic flavors with His Wicked Smile. At the very end of summer, The Kidnapped Bride will be available in mid-September.

Where I live in the Pacific Northwest, we pray for a summerlike September, because it is the only way to get a good tomato crop. We had a very nice June, however, so I’m not sure the tomatoes are going to happen. Wherever you are this summer, I hope you, like me, get to curl up with a good series of romance novels!

heather His Wicked Smile 200300 (2)Some temptations are impossible to resist, even for a bakery heir…

Ann Haldene is the most beautiful woman Gawain Redcake has ever seen. A gifted healer who soothes his battle-scarred body like never before, the widow’s touch has a powerful effect on him. It’s no wonder the rugged Redcake heir forgets his quest for a society bride during one passionate night in Ann’s arms. But once he learns she is pregnant with his child, he searches for her, intent on giving her his name, if not his heart….

Ann is shocked by Gawain’s proposal, mostly because he has not uttered a word of love. For the sake of their baby, she accepts, even knowing that Gawain dreamed of marrying to secure a title and all she has is a severed royal Indian bloodline. Now the new bride faces her greatest challenge: showing her husband that their union is more powerful than pedigree—and love is the ultimate reward….

“A delightful, sexy glimpse into Victorian life and loving with two wonderfully non-traditional lovers.” –Jessa Slade, author of Dark Prince’s Desire and the Steel Born series

Stuff Your Stocking Blogfest: Heather Hiestand

Christmas is such a female holiday. Stores are full of pretty dresses for the babies, girls and women. Everything is beautifully decorated, baked goods abound, and of course, all the good chocolate comes out.

For my extended family celebration, I stand in the massive line at See’s Candies to pick up treats, now that the family members who sent Fannie Mae chocolates and loved Frangos are no longer with us. Beautiful, boxed chocolates is one family tradition I’m not willing to sacrifice, even though those chocolate lines get so long I’ve chatted with people long enough to exchange phone numbers with them!

Another thing we women get? Christmas-themed reading material! Cooking, fashion and lifestyle magazines all feature the season, cozy mystery series have holiday themed releases, and of course, Christmas romance novels start showing up around October. I start hoarding them and have a Christmas reading fest every December. I never see my husband’s truck, 4-wheeler and gun magazines featuring the holidays. Poor guys! It’s almost impossible to find a nice holiday outfit for them and their reading material is dull too. Women get to enjoy this time of year in many forms.

Heather Hiestand’s Christmas purchases for 2011:

*Marian’s Christmas Wish by Carla Kelly

*His Mistress by Christmas by Victoria Alexander

*A Clockwork Christmas – a Carina Press anthology

*Christmas by Michael Bublé

*Melissa and Doug Wooden Nativity Set (hey, I have a toddler!)

And what do I recommend for gifts? My new holiday story, steampunk romance novella Captain Andrew’s Flying Christmas—which of course released in October.

What are you stuffing into stockings this Christmas? Leave me a comment below. Once commenter will win an electronic copy of my sweet holiday romance, “Victoriana.”

Heather Hiestand is the author of seven novels as well as many novellas and short stories. Captain Andrew’s Flying Christmas Blurb:

Housemaid Linet Fenna would rather be an air pirate than a servant. When she finds the ladder to an airship dangling outside her garret window on Christmas Eve, 1892, she ascends to the skies above London on her late father’s flagship dirigible, the Christmas. The new captain is someone she never expected to see again, a dangerous, sexy foe. Is the Fenna family nemesis offering Linet her heart’s desire or a dastardly trap?

Captain Andrew’s motivations are as foggy as the coal-soaked sky. Prime Minister Gladstone’s Blockaders, a horde of automen and a teenage girl named Hatchet want Linet to fail in her quest to discover what happened to her missing family, but she is determined to have a happy Christmas.
