Jeremy Wyles believes himself sterile. He’s also a sadist and fears no lady would agree to marry him. When a woman shows up on his doorstep, pregnant and claiming to be his wife, he’ll do whatever is necessary to ensure his dukedom has an heir. A loveless marriage in name only seems the perfect solution, but his disobedient duchess stirs his desire for discipline…and something more.

Irish rebel Kathleen “Katy” Brennan only seeks recompense from the husband whose cousin married her by proxy and left her with child. The bargain he offers is tempting. He’ll claim her baby as his own, and she can become the grand lady she’s always imagined. There’s just one condition she’s not sure she can live with. The delicious-looking duke refuses to touch her…ever.

Can Jeremy put aside the wicked urges that rule his life, or will Katy’s rebellious spirit destroy his tenuous control?

Don’t you just love it when a book surprises you, but you cannot figure out why it does?? This book, right here!

I’m all about the sexier books, and the ones with BDSM in, and you don’t usually get *much* sexy time in historical romances, but BOY does this book deliver on that level!

It delivers on many many levels!

The story itself is well told, with well rounded characters. Each character has a strong voice, fitting to their time and station. Jeremy is well educated and privileged and Katy was bought up in Ireland. She isn’t a Lady, not in the way it means at this time, but she tries, when brought into Jeremy’s household as its head.

Jeremy makes no bones about what he wants from Katy, and Katy will give him that, but there is that undercurrent between them that bubbles along in the book, one that bursts its banks just when you don’t expect it to.

I loved that Jeremy, while he knew what he wanted to do to Katy, makes her wait; makes her understand what she is asking for. I loved that Katy takes things into her own hands, even if it tips Jeremy over into angry.

Some twists and turns I did not see coming too! Loved being kept on my toes! Absolutely loved that certain characters kept nothing from each other, and that Katy was surprised by that fact, given how she came into their lives.

This is, according to some websites, billed as book one in the Shades of Sin series. I wonder who might be next! A whole host of people here could fit under that title, and maybe some that would surprise me to be included. Would love to read it, whoever might be involved!

This is the first I’ve read from this author, and I hope it’s not the last! 5 stars.

Rock guitarist Spook Mortensen wants nothing to do with sex, love, or intimacy. The one real relationship he had gutted him and left him in a hell of heartbreak and self-loathing. A decade on, he’s content to remain celibate forever—even when it comes to the unique temptations of sound engineer, Allegra Hutton. Better that than being a monster.

Alle can’t forget the mad chemistry that roared into life twice before with Spook. They’ve been texting for a year. Third times a charm, they say…

When their paths collide on the Riviera, the reckless energy that burns between them reaches new heights—but Spook has walls miles thick. He swears she’s walking temptation in one breath, and that he’s not the man for her in the next. Good thing Alle’s a born fighter. She’s not giving up, even if that means digging into his past in order to break through those barriers between them.

Unfortunately, she’s not the only one out to expose him.

I enjoyed this, a lot. I can’t quite love it though, and let me explain why.

This is, from what I can gather, part of a much longer, larger collection of books about this group of people, this band. I have NOT read any of those. In that collection, Spook and Alle come together, a couple of times, at some point. I *think* maybe it would have helped ME (at least) to have read that book. I missed their first encounter! And I really NEEDED it, you know?

Spook is celibate, but has encountered Alle twice before. Those encounters were explosive, even if no actual sex was involved. Alle wants more, and Spook does NOT want more. Alle is a fighter, and she will fight Spook for everything he can give her. She will break his walls down, even if it kills her, and it is highly likely that it may well break her heart!

Spook is an interesting chap! He is closed off about a lot of things and some things he makes plain and clear. He wants Alle, just not in the way SHE wants. He has a lot to say here, and it only just scratches the surface of what’s behind his walls. He is keeping a lot close to his chest, but what he says about what he wants from Alle is dark. But Alle wants that darkness, she NEEDS it from Spook.

Alle and Spook both have a say, along with another band member (but I already forget which one, sorry!) I would like, maybe, at some point, to read all the other books in this collections, because there are some great guys and gals in this book!

There is a very short paragraph at the front of the book that sort of explains how Spook’s tale came to be. I’m so glad that he demanded three books, instead of the one the author promised him, really I am, because I have a feeling that Spook has an awful lot more to say that he has not even hinted at yet!

Alle and Spook’s tale ends in this book on a bit of a cliff hanger, and I didn’t see that coming, so I got all kinds of cross and angry and annoyed! *just be warned*

So, because of missing their earlier encounters, this one is 4 stars.

Welcome to Nailz, a tattoo and piercing parlor where the staff support each other fiercely.

Several years ago, piercer Will had his heart and trust broken by the man who was supposed to love and care for him best—his Dom. Still a sub at heart, he’s nonetheless taken a vow to stay away from Doms. Doing so hasn’t really been that much of a hardship, but then Rick—who is all Dom—walks into the shop.

Rick’s a successful, confident man, who also happens to be a Dom. While he’s experienced, he’s never found the right man to take on as a permanent sub, as a lover—he’s never found his sub. Then he walks into Nailz to get his nipples pierced and everything changes.

The attraction between the two men is immediate and undeniable, but while Rick recognizes the potential they have together and is ready to explore it, Will doesn’t know if he can let go of his past to grab hold of a future with Rick.

Will had been badly hurt by his previous Master and after starting to recover from the break-up had a firm “no Doms” rule. When Rick walks through Will’s doors looking for some nipple piercings Will can tell immediately that the chemistry between them is smoking hot and totally mutual. The only problem is Rick is clearly a Master through and through and Will isn’t sure he’s ready for that level of hurt again.

I really enjoyed this full length story. While on one level the story is absolutely revolving around Will and Rick getting to know each other and exploring their new relationship and the BDSM lifestyle, there is so much emotion and subtleties going on I really feel the story is so much more than that. I found a strong current throughout the book about two people learning to bounce back from pain and learning to trust again, to explore their own needs and desires. While there’s plenty of hot sex – and some of it pretty kinky to boot – I was delighted to find there is a strong element equaling this kink and heat of learning to trust again, to listening to your intuition and being strong enough to reach out and grab what you want.

As the title and blurb clearly indicates, there is plenty in the story about the BDSM lifestyle, about various piercings, toys and non-traditional elements, but I was really glad that even though these are all quite prominent, I strongly feel they weren’t added for shock value or to simply amp up the kink-value of the story. Will is clearly into the lifestyle and I found this aspect of the story to be tastefully written and clearly added with care. It won’t suit all readers, but I’d strongly urge readers intrigued or wanting to dab a toe into these sorts of literary waters would find this an interesting, realistic and tasteful place to start.

I also absolutely loved the very strongly written secondary characters. I have a definite feel that they will be highlighted in future stories – and I am eagerly waiting for just that. These characters – Kel and Nick in particular – added a lot of value to Will and Rick’s story, being supportive and needed in Will’s self-discovery and personal care. I was pleased how much Will’s friends added to his story and grew quite attached to them all.

Sexy and steamy with a delicious streak of kink running through it – this was a brilliant book and one I eagerly devoured. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Drake and Jeren are set up by their mutual friends Denny and Cain. Both men have been searching for something a little more hard-core, something specific. Can they find their way together?

This is a scorching hot short story. While it’s the fifth – and last – in the Hard Candy collection, I was pleased to find it effectively a stand-alone story and there’s no need to have read the previous installments to really enjoy this one. Drake and Jeren are both interesting characters that I really enjoyed. They compliment each other well and this is evident in their near instant chemistry and the way they slot together so easily.

Jeren has a number of body piercings and both needs and enjoys the kink. Derek is a strong Dominant and between them they manage to burn the pages up together. Readers looking for something a little more gentle – or exploratory, rather than explosive – won’t find what they need here. Despite this I found the connection and need from both men to be really emotional and caring. I didn’t find their desire for BDSM or what they did together to be edgy or over the top. They were still both safe, sane and consensual so I feel readers wanting just a little more bite to their erotica should find this very satisfying.

With toys and plenty of BDSM elements this is a hot and sexy short story that I really enjoyed. A little harder than many styles out there this won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but I found it well worth the read and a great, sexy story with two interesting and vibrant characters. A great read.

But the men he’s attracted to usually don’t have a dominant bone in their bodies. He’s done seeking his BDSM dreams with someone who isn’t interested in putting him in his rightful place—on his knees at their feet.

When a friend sets up a meeting with Foster Ridgeway at the BDSM club, Entiwned, Benjamin has his doubts. Of course he is attracted to bookish Foster, who works for the same construction company, but how will someone so small and delicate-looking master Benjamin? A friend brings them together and right from the start, sparks fly!

Hot hot hot, as well as cute wasn’t something I expected to be putting in the same sentence but I did love this book.

It’s really powerful, Benjamin’s reaction to Foster’s Dom voice, and how deep in makes him sinks into his submission. But equally, its really lovely, just how much Foster wants to look after Benjamin. Which is why I think its hot, but cute!

I have just one niggle.

Only Benjamin has a say in this book. It’s all in his POV. I would LOVE to have heard from Foster, it would have been the icing on the cake, and it would have, even for a short 70 odd page book, made it a 5 star read.

But since we don’t hear from Foster, this is a very VERY good, cute and hot (still chuckling at putting those words in the same sentence!) 4 star read.

When a Dom invites a shy bookstore owner to live out his fantasies, more than one life will be transformed.

Words are Heath Snow’s life. He can’t remember a time when he didn’t have his nose buried in a book. He couldn’t make a living as a writer, so he did the next best thing—he bought a bookstore. But when he’s not selling books, he’s living vicariously through the characters he encounters. Real men can’t hold a candle to the hot men in his favorite genre.

Any environmental brand viagra without prescription factors or past experiences influence one’s perspective of any given situation. The Pride display in the bookstore window may be what captured Xavier James’s attention, but the man enthusing about books interests him more. The BDSM book lying next to the cash register is a pleasant surprise, and when he draws attention to it, Heath’s flushed cheeks and bright eyes pique Xavier’s curiosity even further.

Xavier is about to learn that some things are more important than work, and Heath is about to step out of his comfort zone, into a place where fantasy and real life coexist.

Heath has always adored his books and words, but when writing turns out to not be for him it’s a natural progression for him to own his own small book store. He loves nothing more than talking books and making recommendations to his customers and finds happiness here. Xavier is more than a little intrigued not just by the handsome owner, but by the well-read BDSM book Heath next to the register. Can these two men find themselves on the same page?

I found this to be a wonderfully paced full length novel. I really enjoyed how the author had the time and space to slowly introduce me as the reader to both Xavier and Heath’s characters, letting me get a good feel for both what they were like and where they were in their lives. This helped me really see not only how they could work together as a couple, but believe in their relationship and understand how they fitted together and meshed so well. Readers who enjoy a slower pace and fuller experience of the characters should find this story really suits their tastes.

The authors’ voice was modern but really relatable, I found myself easily slipping into the story and I related particularly well to Heath, finding a number of common points with his love of books, reading and the simple enjoyment of sliding into a good book and losing sense of time and real life struggles. I really loved how realistic and smooth the story felt to me – and how this made Heath and Xavier’s compatibility so much more believable and lovely to my mind.

I also really enjoyed the intimacy and sex between Heath and Xavier. While smoking hot, there was so clearly emotion and strong feelings between the two men it wasn’t just sex and kink for the sake of it. I really came to believe both men adored each other and relished exploring their sexuality together – particularly when it came to the club Xavier was a member of and the realities and fantasies of BDSM. I enjoyed the good balance I feel the author struck between Heath’s expectations and desires from reading fiction and how it meshed and coupled with the realities and possibilities of a true, living BDSM relationship. I feel the author did a great job with this, keeping it sexy and interesting but still realistic and logical. In particular, the depth of feeling and deeply emotional connection between Heath and Xavier really sold the story for me. Add on an interesting and well-written plot that didn’t seem to just be a quick throw-in and the story overall felt really well rounded and balanced to me.

Full of interesting characters, a deeply emotional relationship and a good, solid plotline this full length story ticked all the right boxes for me and I really enjoyed it. Recommended.

My Favorite Characters
Okay, there are SO many characters whom I have come to love over the years. There are a few who stand out strong in my mind. Please note, this is NOT a full list, just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I know there are a lot of others that would like to weigh in, but we have to keep the list short.

1) Olly from LM Somerton’s ‘Edge’ series.

What can I say about the brat that is Olly? When we first meet him, Olly is shy and scared. He’s been through something traumatic, and he doesn’t know how to move forward. Enter the new constant in his life, his Dom Joe. Through the love of Joe, Olly is able to let bits of his true self peek through to find what lies beneath the surface. What is it? An irredeemable brat! How so? Let’s take a peek, shall we?

Olly giggled and snapped another picture with his new camera. It was the best present he’d ever had, especially as Joe had given it to him. The zoom was good enough that he could get great shots without getting too close to his targets, which was very useful because he was determined to catch as many people as possible in compromising positions. He didn’t feel in the least bit guilty. If his friends did things in public that inspired Olly’s creative imagination that was their look out. Okay, maybe some of them weren’t exactly in public but it was hardly Olly’s fault if they left doors unlocked or windows open, was it?

He held his breath and crept backwards away from the greenhouse where he’d just managed to get a picture of Jacob, the gardener, snoozing with his feet up on an upturned bucket, his old stripy deckchair wedged into a corner between stacks of terracotta pots. Jacob gave an enormous snore and Olly couldn’t stop himself laughing. Jacob blinked awake and gave Olly a baleful look, then redirected his gaze to a nearby hosepipe. Olly yelped then fell backwards over a wheelbarrow. He scrambled to his feet and ran, just missing a drenching as Jacob set the hose on him.

2) Wes from Silvia Violet’s Wild R series.

OMG, what can I say about Wes? He’s a lanky cowboy with a horse shifter lover. And Wes DOES love Tristan with his whole heart. The two of them together on page is hot, but there is such tenderness there. Wes, like Olly above, has no problem being a bit of a brat (or a lot of a brat), but his love and dedication can never be questioned. How good are the two men together? Here’s a little snippet for you featuring the two men at Christmas.

“Wes! Come help me!” Tristan shouted.

Wes pushed himself up from the couch where he’d been doing research for his latest case. “Just a sec.”

When he stepped into the hall, he froze in disbelief. Tristan was stuck in the doorway with at least three shopping bags in each hand. “What did you do?”

Tristan looked at him like he was a simpleton. “I went shopping.”

Wes sighed as he held the door open so Tristan could push through. Then he followed his lover to the living room where Tristan dropped the bags in the middle of the floor and plopped down beside them.

“I thought you went for a run. What the hell were you doing shopping on the day after Thanksgiving?”

Tristan again stared at Wes like maybe he’d been replaced by an alien, one without much brainpower. “Buying Christmas decorations, of course.”

“Christmas decorations?” Wes did not want to consider the possibility that all those bags were full of Santas, reindeer, and glittery balls. Tristan’s balls were all Wes required this Christmas.

“Sure. I thought we could put them up this afternoon.” Wes’s horror grew as Tristan pulled out a red and green sweater. “Look what I got for Cole.” Tristan held up the offensive garment and Wes fought the urge to shrink backward. On the front was a wolf in a Santa suit surrounded by sheep wearing elf hats. It said “A Wolf in Santa’s Clothing.”

“That is… hideous.”

Tristan laughed. “I know. Isn’t it fantastic?”

“Tris, look… I don’t—”

“Check these out.” He held up lights shaped like reindeer. “They even blink.”

Wes knew arguing with Tristan was useless but he felt compelled to make a small effort anyway. “I usually just put a wreath on the door.”

Tristan gave him an innocent look, the little bastard. “Really?”

“Tristan.”

“Oh, it’s just a few little things,” Tristan said, clearly unconcerned about Wes’s frustration.

“Tell me you don’t have an album of cats meowing Christmas songs in there.”

Tristan put his hands on his hips, which looked ridiculous with him sitting on the floor surrounded by Christmas decor. “How insulting! Do you really not know I prefer the barking dogs? I find cats too… slinky.”

Wes groaned. “You’re going to be even more impossible than usual from now until Christmas, aren’t you?”

“I’m going to be festive.”

“A tree, stockings, maybe a few other small items. That’s festive enough. I can’t live in the middle of North Pole Central.”

Tristan rolled his eyes. “Stop being such a scrooge.”

“Tristan, I will not—”

Tristan’s sly, sexy grin derailed Wes’s train of thought. “I’m sure I can change your mind.”

“You’re always so damn sure you can get your way.” And all too often he was right.

3) Bo from Eden Winters’s Diversion series

Oh, Bo. See, in this series, most people seem to love Lucky. I do too, but Bo? He’s something else entirely. There are so many layers to Bo, an onion is positively green with envy. He can be suave and sophisticated one moment, a total badass the next, or a wide-eyed innocent. Bo sheds personas like a normal person sloughs off clothes. The only person who knows the true Bo is Lucky.

With descending darkness and declining temperatures chasing away any possible witnesses, Bo and Lucky strolled hand in hand to their vehicles, although Lucky did keep their joined digits low and close to his body to minimize undue attention. Wasn’t anybody’s business if a fine man like Bo took leave of his senses enough to want to hold hands with Lucky. No fire, no brimstone, no falling sky resulted from the public display of affection, and no coworker popped out from behind a tree, pointing and yelling, “Aha! I knew it! Wait until I tell Walter!”

Bo’s heartwarming smile and a quick squeeze of his fingers conveyed his approval, though Lucky kept a watchful eye on the trees and shrubs.

They made their way to Bo’s truck and climbed inside. “Are you cold? Want me to turn on the heat?” Bo asked.

“Fuck the cold,” Lucky replied. Their eyes met, and they moved as one, mouths meshing over the console. Bo’s insistent tongue forced its way into Lucky’s mouth at the same instant Lucky aimed for Bo’s. Lucky wrestled Bo into the backseat amidst groping hands scrabbling for purchase, and his lover’s mouth latched onto his neck on that precise spot.

Bo sprawled on his back, one leg on the backseat, one on the floor. Lucky knelt on the seat between Bo’s spread legs, bracing his weight on his knees and one arm.

“Oh, God!” Bo exclaimed, plunging his hand into Lucky’s pants and wrapping chilly fingers around his full erection. He threw his head back against the side window, arching his neck and giving Lucky room to explore.

Okay, let me say right out of the gate this was a hard choice. Mary has so many characters I absolutely adore, including Rand from the Timing series. But my favorite, the one who holds my heart, is Dante Cerreto. In this book, he’s working hard to get his family back together, including his daughter. He seems all nice and sweet and pure, but Dante shows up in another book, and we find out he’s got quite the dark side to him. But in Again, he’s a man who wants to get back what he’s lost, and he’s never going to let it go again. Here’s my favorite snippet with Dante. Now, Noah (Dante’s former husband), is in Las Vegas for the wedding of a friend. He brought his current boyfriend with him, and when Noah goes to talk to the boyfriend, all hell breaks loose as they find the man in flagrante delecto.

I had no idea that the blender that my life was had been switched to puree.

“Shit!” Keith yelled.

It took a minute for me to see what I thought I was seeing.

“Outstanding,” Dante announced loudly, happily.

What?

Who?

I stopped, rewound, and replayed it in my head.

When I opened the door, Keith was on the bed, naked, and an equally naked man was on his knees in front of him with Keith’s dick buried in his throat. Now, Keith was scrambling around the room gathering pants, shoes, socks, lube, and condoms. The other man—Wes, I thought, pretty sure it was Wes—one of his buddies, was frantically doing the same thing.

“Oh my God!” I shouted, finally finding my voice.

“This is so awesome!”

I turned and looked at Dante.

“What?”

5) Thomas and Peter from K.C. Wells’s ‘Trusting Thomas’

This book broke all my feels. We have Peter, a young man who wanted to belong to someone, and was beaten down by the person he (wrongly) chose. It left him with scars, both physical and emotional. When we first meet Peter, he’s being kept in a cage. He’s rescued and taken to Thomas Williams, co-owner of Collars & Cuffs, who agrees to care for him.
Only…

See, Peter doesn’t know what is expected of him. He doesn’t understand things like safewords, or the sub having the power. He only knows the pain that comes with agreeing to belong to someone.

One of the most powerful scenes in the book, is when Peter meets Leo Hart, the other owner of C & C. Peter figures that every Dom must be like Curtis, the abuser who hurt him so badly. When Leo introduces himself to Peter, things go to hell.

“Good morning. I’m Leo Hart, Thomas’s partner. Thomas invited me round.” A look crossed the boy’s face. Leo could swear the boy looked disappointed—and saddened. He sighed dejectedly and his shoulders slumped. With shuffling footsteps, he crossed the room and slowly lowered himself to his knees before Leo. He reached with trembling hands to grasp the buckle of Leo’s belt and began to open it. What the fuck?

“SO ARE you going to tell me why you’re looking so happy this morning?” Thomas teased as he peered into the oven, where cooked bacon and sausages were warming. Alex let out another delighted giggle. Thomas had to smile. Alex had changed so much since their first meeting back in June. Mind you, so had Leo. The two men were obviously good for each other. He hadn’t seen Leo this happy in a long while. In fact, in the two and a half years since the death of Leo’s former lover and submissive, Gabe, Thomas had often thought never to see his business partner happy again. He glanced toward Alex, who was pouring out the coffee into large mugs and smiling to himself. “Not going to tell me, huh?” He chuckled.

Alex met his eyes for the briefest moment before lowering them hastily, smirking. Thomas shook his head. The lad did not like making eye contact, which was probably just as well, seeing as he was now Leo’s submissive. Thomas was glad things seemed to be settling down between the pair, even if he’d had to step in—twice—to sort out Leo’s messes.

“Thomas? Could you get in here, please?” Leo’s call reached him from the lounge. It held a note of agitation that made both Thomas and Alex look up in surprise. Thomas put down the oven cloth he held and walked into the lounge, with Alex close behind him. Thomas came to a dead stop. Peter was on his knees before Leo, who held him firmly around the wrists. Leo’s belt was unfastened. Peter simply knelt there with his head bowed, but Thomas could see the boy was shaking.

“I see you’ve met my houseguest, Peter,” Thomas said dryly.

Leo’s face was a picture of embarrassment. “Your ‘houseguest’ was apparently all set to give me a blow job,” he muttered. Thomas quirked his eyebrows. The lad hid his face against Leo’s belly. As Leo gazed down at him, his expression changed. He let go of Peter’s wrists and gently helped him to his feet.

Thomas addressed the lad. “Peter, why would you do this?”

Peter blinked. “Isn’t that why you brought your friend round here? So I could service him?” His voice quavered.

Thomas was horrified. For a moment he was too shocked to speak. What had this poor boy been subjected to?

“No, Peter. That’s not what’s going to happen. I would never ask that of you. Ever.” He spoke quietly but forcefully. He wanted there to be no misunderstanding. “Why would you think I expected you to do that?”

Peter lowered his chin. “That’s how I was taught, Sir,” he murmured.”

Excerpt From: K.C. Wells. “Trusting Thomas.”

K.C. puts you through the emotional ringer with this book, and it’s painful to see Peter being drawn out of his shell, even though you know it’ll have a happy ending. There are so many things that happen (wait until you see the shaving scene) that you want to take Peter and put him in wool batting to keep him safe and loved forever.

So there you have it. Five of my favorite characters from M/M Romance. If you haven’t checked out these books, I hope you’ll consider it, because they all are amazing, and you’ll probably enjoy them as much as I did.

About the AuthorsParker Williams loves the written word. The discovery of MM romance, as well as a chance encounter with an amazing author, changed the course of his life as he began to write the stories his men were whispering to him. With the help of some amazing friends and a community of writers he’s proud to be part of, Parker continues telling stories of love, hurt, comfort, and sometimes tosses in a little angst for fun.

This book was simply delightful. Hot, yes, but delightful. Kaden and Jennifer do indeed belong together, even if they haven’t realised it yet. To be fair, it doesn’t take Kaden long at all, and Jennifer simply wishes.

For being a short read, Ms. Greywood certainly knows how to write characters that will charm you, whether they are human or not, on two, three, or four legs. There is a full story here, giving you a little bit of magic, some steamy scenes, and a whole host of the warm fuzzies.

I have no hesitation in recommending this heartwarming Christmas story. Definitely one to keep and re-read!

Everything to prove and everything to lose.

One night to show her that submitting to him doesn’t make her weak, that true submission requires strength and trust.

Will pushing Rose to her limits prove to her she can trust him with her body and heart, and can she let go of her deepest fears long enough to enjoy her surrender?

A well trained and professional bodyguard, Rose is perfectly comfortable with danger and risk in her professional life. In her personal life, however, she’s been reluctant to follow through on her true desires. Lucien has known for months that deep down Rose yearned to give up her control. Has the time finally come for them to both take what they really want?

I found this to be a well paced and interesting short story. While Rose and Lucien’s characters are both fairly straight forward I found myself really enjoying and empathizing with Rose’s voice and the author’s style of narration. It was clear to me from the first page that even though Rose was a strong, capable and very modern woman she was new and a little off-kilter with the depth and hunger of her sexual needs. This small snippet of vulnerability really had me relating to Rose and helped make her feel more human to me – I wanted to watch her explore this side of herself that was new to her and I was rooting for her from the beginning.

Each chapter alternated from Lucien’s to Rose’s perspective and I found this really helped me connect with both characters. While I continued to find Lucien somewhat mysterious I enjoyed that his affection and desire for Rose was genuine and deep-seated. It was refreshing to me that he didn’t start from the perspective of curiosity or wanting to teach (or worse to my mind – train) Rose into the BDSM lifestyle but held her not only in high esteem but he really wanted a proper and lasting relationship with her. I felt this lent an air of spice and edge to the whole story – knowing it wasn’t a game or a test-run for Lucien in particular, but more of an urgent desire to mesh both their needs into a form of intimacy they could both enjoy and explore together.

Readers looking for an intense plot outside of the growing relationship between Rose and Lucien probably won’t be satisfied with the stalker side-plot. Only mentioned briefly then wrapped up very quickly toward the end I really feel that the main conflict and plot element is the self-discovery between Rose and Lucien and the deepening of their sexual relationship.

The sex between Rose and Lucien was hot, intense and quite kinky. Readers looking for something with a bit of spice should find this aspect of the story quite satisfying. I was also intrigued by Lucien’s half-brother and am hopeful that there might be a follow-up story revolving around him.

Hot, intense and kinky this is a great, quick read and I really enjoyed it. I’ll be keeping an eye out for any future works from this author.

Kane loves his job waiting tables at Club Endless, but even though he’s a sub, he never dates the Doms from work. A bad relationship and a tendency to rush into things has left him cautious, which is why he’s so surprised at his reaction to Master Jess.

Jess is bored and a little jaded, thinking maybe he might let his membership to Club Endless lapse. Then he sees Kane in a whole new light, asking the young sub out on a date away from the club. Kane doesn’t want to rush into things, but they seem meant to be — if they can just get past Kane’s fear of picking the wrong man.

Jessup was a founding member of Club Endless, and while the club had moved forward with the times – and still as amazing now as the day it had opened – Jessup himself was starting to feel tired and in need of a break. It wasn’t until a friend mentioned to Jess how his demeanor changed when talking about one of the waiters, Kane, that Jess realised there was definitely some chemistry burning between them. Can Kane give Jess exactly what he’s searching for?

I found this to be a fun and sexy short story. I was really pleased that Jess and Kane didn’t simply glance at each other and jump into bed. While for such a short length story that sort of quickness is often understandable I really enjoyed getting to know a bit about both Kane and Jess – both their personalities and where they were emotionally right now in their lives. It helped not just set the scene for me but also showed me as the reader why and how they could slot so nicely into each other’s lives and work together as a couple.

I also really enjoyed how – again despite the shortness to the story – I didn’t feel that either Kane nor Jess were cookie cutter types of characters. While not outrageous, both men had backgrounds and distinctive elements to their personality and situation to help them feel to me as if they weren’t just bland or random people filling out the story. This really helped me connect better to them and I found myself quickly emotionally invested in both men and the story itself. The conflict wasn’t anything fresh or unique – but I did like how it was handled and I feel the author did an excellent job of using the scene to add depth to the relationship between Kane and Jess and showcase just how invested and connected the two men had grown with each other in such a short length of time.

I really enjoyed the sex scenes – finding them hot and intense but not too envelope-pushing. Readers used to BDSM should find this hot and enjoyable but still quite standard. I enjoyed the connection and chemistry between Jess and Kane but did get a little tired of them both (Kane in particular) insisting they not move too quickly, then doing just that. While I completely understood where both men were coming from I felt that aspect went on a little longer than was logical – even into the start of their sex scene when it was quite clear they were going to consummate the relationship after the first date.

Hot and sexy, I found this to be a good and fun short story. I really enjoyed the characters and found the relationship between the two men to be interesting and well written.
