Saturday Seven 4: New Authors I’ve Discovered Thanks to Long and Short Reviews

One of the best things about owning Long and Short Reviews is the many many new authors we get to “meet.” I’ve found some of my favorite authors in our pages – here are just a few (actually, seven.. lol.. see what I did there?), in no particular order. Click on their names to see a post from them or a review of one of their books.

1. Charlotte Hubbard Charlotte writes wonderful Amish, inspy romance books. The characters she draws and the settings are so real– I would love to visit them and just spend some time enjoying the simple things of life.

2. Karen Harper was an early author featured on our site and I fell in love with her writing – both her romantic suspense and her historicals. She is definitely on my auto-read list!

3. Maggie Toussaint is another early author that I now follow closely (and I’ve even had the opportunity to meet her in person… not only is she a good writer, she’s just a genuinely nice person!)

4. Somehow I had missed hearing about Meg Cabot until we reviewed this book. She’s now another one of my auto-reads, especially when I’m in the mood for something with a bit of humor.

5. Pauline Baird Jone also first came to my attention on Long and Short Reviews. One of my all time favorite people.

6. I first “met” Jo Webnar in these pages and not only did I enjoy her books, I enjoyed becoming familiar with their way of life. They’ve given up boat living now, but I know it was fun while it lasted.

7. Last, but certainly not least, is Sarita Leone. She’s another author I keep up with (and am anxiously waiting the sequel to her latest book.. hint, hint).

What about you? Have you “met” any new authors here? Let us know!

  1. I keep meaning to read Sarita Leone’s books. She has quite a few that sound interesting.

Here is my Saturday Seven for this week.

  2. Great list! I’m glad to see some I’ve read; Charlotte, Pauline, Jo and Sarita.
Thanks for the new ones to check out. 🙂

  3. Oh, duh – I forgot to include my contribution to the Saturday 7:

  4. I have never met an author in person. However, since I discovered Lauri Robinson & her Oak Grove series through LASR I’d love to meet her and get a signed book by her. I also discovered through LASR Anna J. Stewart. I loved her Honor Bound series. I’ll have to check out Meg Cabot. I like a story that makes me laugh.
