Wolf Hunt by Paige Tyler – Spotlight and Giveaway

Long and Short Reviews welcomes back Paige Tyler who is visiting with us today to celebrate the release of the 6th book in her SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series, Wolf Hunt. Leave a comment for a chance to win a print copy of the book (US only). She answered our question, “What sort of research did you do for Wolf Hunt, or for the Special Wolf Alpha Team (SWAT) Series as a whole?”

Wolf Hunt is the sixth book is my Special Wolf Alpha Team (SWAT) Series, so I’ve gotten most of my SWAT specific research out of the way a while ago. I did do a lot of work on door breaching techniques since that’s a key element for this story, but I already knew the rest of the concepts for how the team functions, trains, and operates. My biggest research effort for this book was all the stuff related to New Orleans, like the general layout of the city and its history with hurricanes since the story takes place as a storm is approaching.

We’ve been there a decade ago and again during a Romantic Times convention a few years ago, so that really helped, but I still needed to spend a lot of time studying maps, looking up the area’s history, how they handle storms, what the city’s residents do to get ready for a storm. Pretty much everything you can think of.

I think all the research really paid off because it adds a ton of ambience. In fact, the city almost becomes a character by itself.

Remy Boudreaux has kept his distance from women ever since his partner and girlfriend was killed on the job. From his point of view, you can’t be hurt if you never let anyone get close.

Everything changes when Remy reconnects with the beautiful forensic scientist—and his high school crush—Triana Bellamy. Remy is determined keep things casual. But when a mysterious wolf pendant ropes them both into danger, Remy may have to reveal his true self…and hope Triana accepts him just as he is.
