What kind of books do I read?
I love any kind of romance, from erotic to sweet, from historical to fantasy. The century, the world, the place really doesn’t matter as long as the main characters are well written, the sexual tension building, and they inevitably fall in love at the end. After all, what is a romance novel without a happily ever after?

My favorites? I enjoy paranormal. Love Jayne Castle’s books with the paranormal twists. Always a mystery to keep you on your toes, surprising turns along the way, and realistic characters you can bond with. Also, I’ll pick up and devour anything Lora Leigh writes in her Breed series. Talk about steamy, hot, and drool worthy. If her love scenes don’t get your heart pumping, then nothing will. But, her stories are more than just carnal motivated. There’s an overall mystery to her books, each one slowly disclosing more and more about the Breeds themselves, their idiosyncrasies, their survival. All this makes me, and a lot of other fans, eagerly await the next installment in order to meet new characters, find out what genetic differences they carry, and take one step closer to solving some of the big questions which threaten all Breeds alike.

Growing up, I loved to read Cassie Edwards with all her Native American heroes. The history of each one, with their various cultural beliefs intrigued me as did the struggles each one had to overcome from bias, to hatred, to deadly threats. I developed a love of Native Americans and a fascination for their histories and views on the world. Then we learned about the World War II Navajo Code Talkers who sacrificed so much, went to war, and basically saved the world. These men came home under deep promises to keep their mouth shut and many have died before they could even tell their families what an exceptional service they willingly gave their country. This has stuck with me to this very day and served as an inspiration for one of my Wind Warrior men, Night in Summer’s Night.

Night’s a throwback to his ancestors, struggling in the modern world, post special ops service and founder of the Wind Warriors. Trying to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, he finds the world a different place with new battles than his grandfather could ever imagine. Yet, Night carries the same honor, pride, and determination which allowed those cherished few Code Talkers to save so many lives. He’s a tribute to his ancestors and I hope you will see the special qualities he shares with those close to him. Smart, brave, and perceptive, Night can pull strings, fight right alongside his men, and run a business like a seasoned CEO. He’s independent and loving to those favored few, intimidating and powerful to those who hurt others. He faces daunting odds and always comes out in one piece along with every man under his watch.

Then he stumbles across Summer and the sparks start to fly. Stubbornness can only go so far when the heart finds something it wants. One hundred and fifty years ago, he’d simply carry Summer off and make her his bride. In modern times, he has to go about things a bit differently. Yet, when Summer is kidnapped under his watch, the warrior inside emerges with more than counting coup on his mind.
Night, as you can find out for yourself, is a modern day Code Talker with a twist. I hope he touches you as much as he’s touched me along the way.

11_4 summersnight_800Night tells himself Summer is his mother’s physical therapist and nothing more. Until she’s kidnapped on his watch and he realises how much he truly cares.

Night, leader of the Wind Warriors, has little time for romance and no patience for his matchmaking mother’s selections, too busy focusing on special missions. His orderly life falls apart when Summer, his mother’s physical therapist and his budding romantic interest, is kidnapped at gunpoint.
Summer never expects to meet a man like Night, intelligent and downright sexy. She bristles under his dictatorial tone, stands up to him, while beginning to see the man underneath. A man she could spend a lifetime with.

The past comes back to haunt Night, dragging Summer into the midst of danger. Can he gather the team and rush to her rescue before it’s too late and he loses the woman he’s come to love?

About the Author: Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall, resulting in a quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn’t any good at it. I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on becoming a nurse.

A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author’s webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing. Now, I spend my days off with my alpha male characters, quick witted heroines, and see how much trouble everyone can get into.
