Greetings, everyone! First, I’d like to thank Long and Short Reviews for hosting me today. And thank you, lovely readers, for helping me celebrate my newest release FULL GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE. In honor of my Romantic Suspense, I thought it would be fun to share the top five favorite things of my protagonist, Faith Crawley.

1. Bordeaux. Like me, Faith loves things she cannot afford, and the top pick of her “guilty pleasures” list start with darn good wine. A fine Bordeaux would be Faith’s go to choice because it’s considered one of the best by the experts. Red Bordeaux is extraordinary, but can take a decade—or even four—to fully develop. France’s red Bordeaux is always a blended wine, made from two to five other varieties. Red goes best with meat and hard cheese, but the white versions are equally lovely (and safer for those who own white carpeting.

2. Shoes. According to Faith, “After sex and money, there was nothing better for a mood lift than the feel of virgin soles.” Faith feels more comfortable in heels than sensible shoes, and her obsession with designer footwear is one of the top things she can’t resist. Like Faith, I have paused by storefronts, giving wistful looks of longing at designer names such as Choo, Ferragamos, Louboutin, and Weitzman. I, myself, have owned a pair of Stuart Weitzmans for over twenty years, and they continue to provide comfort and style and have maintained their supple leather. Yes, the afore mentioned brands cost an arm and an ankle, but after years of purchasing Brand X shoes, merely for the fact they were cheap, I realized it’s better to invest in a good pair of heels that will stand the test of time rather than save a few dollars here and there.

3. Coffee. Poor Faith. The baristas at the coffeehouses she frequents can’t seem to get her name right. But she’s happy to overlook that minor irritation for a good cup of Joe. Faith is a night owl, and like the TV character Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls, Faith cannot function without her daily dose of caffeine. Fortunately for her, Jeanine, Faith’s overpaid/annoying assistant, is a wizard with a frothing machine. The fact that Jeanine makes killer lattes is one of the reasons Faith hasn’t fired her. Yet.

4. Music. Faith learned to appreciate Jazz and the classics through her mentor Angela, and, like me, she has a fondness for talented musicians like John Coltrane and Dave Brubeck. Growing up, my parents played B.B. King, Beethoven, and Nana Mouskouri records every night during dinner and that instilled my appreciation for the classics. I also used to frequent a small dive on M Street in Georgetown, where they had live acts perform and patrons could play rounds of backgammon while sipping beers from around the world. I loved the ambience of that watering hole—now replaced with a flashy retail store—and wanted the readers to experience it with me.

5. Half-yearly sales at Nordstroms. Because every savvy shopper, real or fictional, appreciates a good bargain. 😉

When DC Madam Faith Crawley receives a call from former client, Senator William Drummond, it’s the answer to her prayers. The money the dirty politician offers her to smear his rival Finn Billings will save Faith’s business, her lifestyle, and her girls.

Raised in the shadow of a political magnate, Finn Billings has the credentials to get the job done, but he lacks confidence and wonders if politics is truly the life he desires.

Using the façade of her front business, a PR firm, Faith turns Finn into a political powerhouse while obtaining the evidence Drummond needs to destroy Finn’s political chances. But Faith didn’t plan on falling in love with her mark.

Now she has the toughest decision ever—give the sleazy senator incriminating photos of Finn to save her business or give up everything for the sake of love.

In the biz, your word was golden, and there were rules that had to be upheld. White lies were acceptable, but there were certain lines one never crossed. Keep data in code, shield clients’ privacy, and, most importantly, protect the girls. At all costs. I’d always honored these precepts to the best of my abilities. It helped me stay afloat while other madams sank like flat tires in the Anacostia River.
Yet there I was after one free lunch, considering a partnership with a man who didn’t deserve to lick my stilettoes. Why? Was it the champagne? Drummond’s smooth tongue? The fact that creditors were calling on a regular basis? Whatever the reason, I couldn’t dismiss him until I exhausted every option.

Unfortunately, I only had one.

Even worse, she hated my guts.
