Why did you become a reviewer?

Simple. I love reading. Always have, always will.

What are your favorites genres to read in and why?

I prefer erotic romances, specifically gay erotic romance. But I also love mysteries, fantasy, and scifi. Drama and biographies, not so much.

What book in your youth made a big impression on you and why?

There were quite a few. Neverending Story, Lord of the Rings, Judge Dee Mysteries, Conan the Barbarian series, the Dune series, Foundation, Lovecraft’s books, etc. Too many to count! They all showed how many different genres are out there, and that one reader can enjoy all of them.

Do you have any “bad book habits”? Dog Ear? Reading in the tub or while eating? Breaking the spine?

Depends on the book. In the Judge Dee mysteries the main characters often eat delicious meals, so the books have to be read while eating, or I’ll salivate all over the book. Horror books are best read in daylight, and fantasies and murder mysteries require a quiet place, like the bathtub.

What is something that makes you stop reading a book?

Usually, repetition. How characters don’t develop and the plot doesn’t move forward, until you feel like you’re reading the same scene over and over again. That may be real life but… I hate that.

What book do you think should be made into a movie? Why?

The real Conan stories, not the one that showed up in the movie theaters a year or two ago, claiming to be true to the original–while being nothing of the sort!

What would you choose as a superpower? why?

I’m torn between flying and invisibility. Both have nice perks. Flying. Yeah, that requires no explanation. Invisibility would be cool to observe people, though not in a creepy, stalking, Peeping Tom kind of way.

What were your top ten books you reviewed for LASR in 2014?

I only started reviewing for LASR this fall (2014). But there were two I quite liked: Two Days of Temptation by Evie North and Room Service by Nikka Michaels.

Having the ability to fly is a nice perk. Never gonna be late again …. :3

  2. Flying for me! Being invisible is too creepy.

  3. I like horror as well!

  4. I don’t read horror all that often anymore, but when I do, I definitely read them while the sun is out!! LOL!

  5. Barbara Elness says:

Flying and invisibility are pretty cool super powers, but I think I’d choose teleportation. It’s almost like flying, but I’d get where I needed to go instantly. No more getting stuck in traffic. 😀

  6. Repetition, characters not being developed and the plot doesn’t move forward are reasons that frustrate me and could lead to me putting a book down as well.

  7. I admit I haven’t read a lot of stories that mix horror and romance, let alone horror and erotica. I might try to read that one day, if I find any 🙂

  8. Flying would be a fun superpower
