11_26 book coverWriting ONCE A SEAL was a lesson in humor and humility. Since the story focuses on a newlywed SEAL and his wife, there are a number of factors that had to be taken into account. The very-often truth of what happens when a husband leaves the house and all the things that could go wrong. Getting to know someone even when they are here one day and gone the next. And, how to do deal with the varying degree of interactions between ranks and branches. These factors led me to do extra interviews on the experience of being a military wife and a SEAL wife, so as not to use only my own opinion. I found similarities throughout the discussions, which often left many of us laughing. But, at the time, those experiences were difficult and complex and as a wife had to be dealt with alone, or enlisting the help of a friend. Thus, I found myself humbled by the candidness of the women who shared their thoughts and experiences—thank you! And, I am honored by their words. Whether you are a military wife or not, I hope you can relate to some of the events that occur in ONCE A SEAL, and enjoy the rather spicy journey. Hooyah!

  1. I love Anne Elizabeth’s books and this new SEAL series ROCKS! Stayed up all night when her latest book in the series ONCE A SEAL came out. Tired the next day, but wellllllll worth losing sleep over. Really like the characters and being able to ‘lift the veil’ and take a peek at what it’s like to actually be married to one of these guys. It’s definitely NOT for the feint of heart. As always AE is a great read.

  2. sounds like a great series
