Janet prefers her men submissive, her relationships confined to a club environment. Which is why her attraction to former Navy SEAL Max doesn’t make a lot of sense. There isn’t a submissive bone in his honed, muscular body, suggesting that her interest in him is best indulged as a private fantasy. After a crisis situation reveals a different side of them both, the attraction becomes mutual, explosive and undeniable. They take the plunge, willing to see if the give-and-take of their unexpected relationship can satisfy their deepest desires. Unfortunately, ghosts from their past might take the reins from them both, destroying the balance of power before their love can find a way to tip the scales.

Wiling Sacrifice brings us back into the world of Kensington and Associates. This story is about Janet and Max and how their relationship unfolds. Max is an alpha man who must learn to trust not only his emotions but those around him as well. Janet is one of those people that he must trust. He gives her not only his body but also his heart. As much as Max must trust Janet she must let Max in as well. Both must deal with their past and heal together but will Max’s past tear them apart before they have even begun?

This story took me on a roller coaster ride of emotion. Just when I thought I had the characters all figured out the author threw another twist into the story. From love to hate and those emotions in between, they are all in this book. I adored Janet and Max. They make a great couple and their banter made for a great read. I was not only treated to watching their relationship take form but I also watched Max deal with his past. I enjoyed meeting many of the Navy Seals that are his friends as well as seeing all of the past characters from the previous books. Seeing them all band together as the family that they truly are made for a wonderful read. Joey W. Hill knows how to weave a beautiful story and pull the reader into that world. Once I started this book I was so enraptured with it and hated to put it down for any reason and I hope that we get to visit this world again.
