One taste and Braden knew Millie was the one. Considering their tormented history, this fiery witch would rather die than give herself to a vampire.

Braden has searched all his life for the one who will help him regain his humanity and give him absolute power. One bite and he knew Millie was the one he had been searching for. Millie, a fiery red head is the last one in the line of high born witches who would rather die than give herself to this vampire. After all he killed her mother for her blood as well, didn’t he? But in a twist of fate Millie learns too late what the truth is. But will death be the only thing that unites them?

Millie had met Braden at a friend’s birthday party. After waking up from a horny dream, she’d shrugged the remaining erotic sensations off, ignored the stinging mark on her upper thigh, and went to work like any other day. Then Braden comes to her again that night, admits he’s a vampire and needs her blood – hers and none other. Freaked out, Millie runs to her grandmother’s house, the only member left of her family. Unable to help himself, Braden follows his own brand of wild fire, determined to make her his.

This short story is full of magic and vampires, power and twisting plot-lines. What on the surface looks like just another paranormal tale has been deepened to have quite a convoluted back story and numerous twists and turns. It kept me guessing all the way through and quite a few times took me by surprise. The author has packed quite a bit into this story in a manner I find quite impressive. Short enough to get through in a few hours, but certainly not your average, simple tale, I think this will entertain even the most jaded paranormal reader.
