Lulu Swade was undercover checking out Onsen the rival spa of Voda where she worked. Her bosses wanted to know what made Onsen so successful while other spas were failing. Lulu loved the Japanese theme of Onsen’s with their exceptional massages and hot springs, but that still did not tell her why they were so successful. After all they offered the same amenities that Voda offered, except for the hot springs.
Not being able to find anything, Lulu decided that she would just email her boss and tell him that there was nothing special about Onsens and just enjoy her time there.
Lulu had not been to the hot springs, so she decided that she would go so that she could just relax. On her way to the hot springs, Lulu found herself walking down a hallway that was not on the map of the hotel, she was stopped by a woman who directed her to the hot springs. Looking back Lulu saw that the woman was watching her which gave her a strange feeling. Being curious and realizing that she was the only one who could see the hallway, Lulu decided to see where the hallway led. At the end of the hallway she found a door which opened into a large room with another pool.
Hotsuma Mizuno was the eleventh head of the Mizuno family that had been bound to water by his family in the eighteen hundreds. He was surprised and hopeful when the woman stepped into the room and entered the pool. After all the centuries he was trapped in his watery prison, hope started to bloom. Could this woman be his salvation, his hope of freedom? Hotsuma could not let her go without getting her to help him escape his prison.
Wet: Undercurrent was an excellent read which had a little intrigue, a lot of chemistry between the main characters, intense sex and of course a villain. This reader was caught up in the story from the first paragraph and was disappointed when the story ended. Lulu was funny and somewhat sarcastic which this reader found entertaining. Hotsuma was intense and was determined to get free so that he could be with Lulu. This is definitely one of those books that I will read again, because it was so enjoyable. Zenobia Renquist wrote an excellent story, one which would appeal to most readers, as it did to me.
