Getting to know Vixen was so much fun. Her personality shone through from the very first scene, and I only liked her even more as the plot progressed. She was smart, sociable, and knew exactly what she wanted from life. These are all traits that a reindeer shifter needs in this universe, so I was glad to see that the main character had them all.

There were some pacing issues that were especially noticeable in the middle portion of this book. The beginning and ending were paced pretty well, but the middle didn’t have quite as many plot developments the sections before and after it. This made this section feel like it was moving much more slowly than the rest of the tale. Either pacing style could have worked if the narrator had stuck with it, but switching between them in something this short was jarring for me.

The chemistry between Vixen and Dasher was perfect. I really rooted for them to end up together because of how nicely they got along and how much they seemed to enjoy each other’s company. This is the kind of stuff I really like to see in these types of stories. Their pasts were only mentioned briefly, but hearing about them only made me want to see these two characters get together even more.

I’d recommend Vixen to fans of erotica and fantasy alike.
