The best part of the holidays is unwrapping the presents.

Emily would love to heat up Simon’s Christmas with more than just hot chocolate and roasting chestnuts. But their bedroom might as well be the North Pole, thanks to her tendency to freeze at the threshold of sex. They both sense her hidden sexual side—the trick is letting herself be as naughty as she is nice.

The strain on their relationship is beginning to show, and if there’s to be any chance of a New Year’s kiss, she’d better figure out how to make merry—fast. Starting with a few lessons in lust. Then giving Simon the perfect gift by showing him just how naughty she can be…

When Emily decides to give Simon something very special for Christmas, unwrapping gifts takes on a whole new meaning.

Emily has a problem. She freezes during sex. A lot. Simon, her boyfriend is about to lose his mind at her hot and cold reactions to him and Emily is scared she is going to lose him. After a talk with a sex therapist friend turns into something much more than she expected, Emily becomes determined to give Simon a holiday gift that he won’t ever forget.

Sex for Emily is a double edged sword. On one hand, she wants it. Badly. But when she gets in front of Simon, things go horribly wrong. It even made me a little frustrated, watching the back and forth between the two. Simon is completely at a loss on how to make Em see that when you love someone, desire should push past all the “prim and proper” upbringing issues that she got from her parents.

The story has a good flow and things get interesting when Emily goes to speak to her friend and things are heightened to a new level of awareness.  One very sexy voyeurism scene got my interest in the book growing again as I wondered how Emily was going to turn the experience into something that would help her with her reactions to Simon. There were some very real psychological issues that can affect all relationships from time to time. How do you make someone want to have sex with you when they don’t want to? How do you go about wanting to have sex when the whole thing makes you feel dirty? It is a conundrum. Thankfully for all parties, Emily has a sexy holiday surprise under her Santa hat and Simon’s blue Christmas is just about to get a little more merry.

If you want a fun holiday read with some very naughty uses for a candy cane, then you need to check out Unwrapped.
