“I want you to drive me wild,” she whispered and listened to his hearty laughter, the cool object slowly caressing the inside of her calves, causing shivers of anticipation to race along her nerves to the center of her desire. In a deep tone barely above a whisper, he said, “Let’s play.”

Although this is a self-published book, and one I normally wouldn’t have read, I’m glad I took the time. I liked the main characters very much, and although we rarely got glimpses of Cray’s point of view (which I would have liked), the love story between the two was believable and sensual. The author takes a miniature tour through Europe, and it was fun to read about places I’ve never been.

That said, there were a number of negatives. The biggest suggestion I’d have is to find a professional editor. There were a number of grammar issues, added or missing words and typos. A professional editor would go far in cutting those things out, as well as helping with the pacing. I enjoyed Trust Me, but it was far too long. I admit I began skimming some descriptions of rooms or unnecessary characters. I appreciate the author’s imagination, but it just slowed down the pace of the story. And while the sex was hot, there was just too much. After many scenes, it became gratuitous. I enjoy a deep conversation between a couple in love just as much as a hot sex scene.

One final point (which is what I was left with after days of reading):  when I invest the amount of time it takes to read a story that’s almost 500 pages, I really would like an ending. To read “To Be Continued…” after all that was really frustrating. One of the cardinal rules of most romance publishers is a happily ever after or at least a happily for now ending.

All that considered, I made it to the end of this book because I did like the characters and hoped they’d make it. There is real potential in this story. The author has a very nice voice, and with a little work and sophistication, this could be a real winner.
