Trust: A New Beginning is a story worth reading. It is a full length novel, and it is rich, fast paced and intriguing. Furthermore it is a well written story without loose ends and I was fully immersed in it from the very beginning. I consider Cristiane Serruya a very promising writer and I think if she continues to write like this she will have bright writing career.

Trust: A New Beginning is a story about Sophia, a 25 years old widow from Brazil, and two men from the United Kingdom, Ethan and Alistair. It is not love triangle story; it is focused on Sophia’s relationship first with Ethan and then with Alistair. Although Sophia’s relationship and her feelings toward these two men are significantly different, Ethan and Alistair are very similar. They are both very rich and successful businessmen, they are both totally alpha males, very persuasive, with dark pasts, are very jealous, and unfortunately they both are to some degree violent toward Sophia. Their violence is coming from their desire to possess her, but she is too strong a personality for them. I strongly believe that there are no excuses for violence, especially towards those who are in any way weaker.

Sophia is very complex character and I had thought I’d have the time during the story to figure her out (and I think I am still confused), because there was a discrepancy between the way she acted and the things she said. Just to mention one: in one scene she said to Ethan that she cannot be bought with luxury items, but when he bought her some shoes that she had wanted to buy for so long she accepted them gladly. Besides these confusing character moments, I find Sophia a really great and strong woman that did not allow neither Ethan nor Alistair to rule over her or push her around. All the characters are written well, both the leading ones as well as the secondary ones.

Trust: A New Beginning reminded me a little of some 1980s women’s fiction and TV shows. The main reason is because this book features very, very rich people. So rich that, for me, it was unimaginable how wealthy they are. I was never allowed to forget that because the author, Cristiane Serruya, kept reminding me just how “in-the-money” they were by continuously mentioning all the luxurious brands (and restaurants and places) they have, over and over again. After a while this began to bother me, mostly because half of those brands (and restaurants and places) were totally unknown to me. I just did not care what Sophia or Ethan or Alistair are wearing, eating, drinking or what model of the car are they driving. They weren’t so relevant to the story once it was established that they are über rich.

Trust: A New Beginning is erotic romance, but it does not feature a lot of sex scenes as one might expect in this genre. The scenes that are there are very hot, well written and they complement the story. Although I feel the story is very well written, the author manged to do a lot of head hopping, fortunately I always knew from which character the point of view in the story is told.

Trust: A New Beginning has some minor flaws and some illogicality, but I enjoyed reading it so much that I am planning to read the second installment as soon as possible. So all of you who prefer a good love story, great sex, extremely rich people, good looking men and a clever, gorgeous woman, this book has much to offer and should appeal.
