To Tame a Wild Heart has a little of everything, historical, coming of age, first loves, and horses. I liked the main character Chancy from page one. She’s interesting, sort of a fish out of water for her time, and knows what she wants. It’s that drive of hers that keeps you turning the pages. And just when you think she might get everything she desires, Nick, the ranch hand shows up and seems to throw Chancy’s chances out the window.

You feel with her and along with her and then there’s the excitement has the little girl turns into a young lady and notices him for something besides being her rival.

I also liked Nick too. You felt like he had something to prove too, and he tried his best not to be an enemy to Chancy. Which sometimes made it hard to know who to cheer for.

This was a quick read and a fun one which I think would make perfect summer reading for any girl who likes horses and spunky characters.
