Lonely young witch, Veronica Hardwicke, has struggled to get on with her life after the death of the elderly husband who’d left her a fortune and a sprawling estate in mystical Sleepy Hollow. When frightening things go bump in the night on a stormy Fourth of July, who better to call than the sexy developer and contractor, Sean Jones, who’s been renovating her mansion for months?

Sean may grace the tabloid pages with a different supermodel on his arm every night, but it’s Veronica who drives him nuts. Ignoring his instinct to stay away, he answers her summons.

Will the thundering passion of their 1Night Stand tear down the barriers between them?

A rich widow, a terrible witch, Veronica Hardwicke may be a lot of things, but crazy isn’t one of them, despite what Sean Jones thinks.

Her husband’s passing not only left her with more money than she knows what to do with, it left her lonely as well. While they never actually consummated their marriage, she loved her husband and his passing has left a terrible void in her heart. The only company she has in her huge mansion is Sean’s construction crew during the day, and the strange sounds of something thumping around in her attic at night. Despite her husband being a powerful sorcerer, she doubts the scary sounds are his restless spirit come to keep her company. Poor Veronica has something strange going on in her house. Who’s she gonna call? Not Ghostbusters, that’s for sure. Seems the first person who comes to mind is the sexy By Jones’ contractor, Sean Jones. In fact, Mr. Jones stays on her mind far more than he should, but Veronica is certain her attraction is one-sided. After all, a man like Sean Jones is used to having a different playmate on his arm every night. What would he want with a boring widow like her?

Sean knows the success of his company comes from satisfied customers. But Veronica Hardwicke is just about the most difficult client he’s ever dealt with. The woman grates on his nerves, makes him madder than a hornet, and has him at his wit’s end. So why does he jump at her every whim? Rip out perfectly good construction work just to do it all over again? Answer her calls in the middle of the night when he already has a beautiful and willing partner lying next to him in bed? Those are the very questions that Sean asks himself as he rushes to do Veronica’s bidding, once again. Despite the woman’s seeming craziness, Sean can’t help his attraction to her. Client or not, his thoughts have frequently taken him to Veronica’s bedroom for business that has nothing to do with remodeling.

Taryn Kincaid has done it once again. Thunder grabbed my attention right from the start. When she was an author new to me, I was pleasantly surprised with Ms. Kincaid’s other book in this series, Lightning, and am equally pleased with Thunder as well. While either can be read alone, it was nice to have a little background and character introduction in the first book. I knew exactly who Sean was talking to when his brother called. As Sean raced to Veronica’s, I felt like I was in the seat next to him in his convertible, feeling the wind rip through my hair as the growing storm threatened to drench us both. This is a very faced-paced and exciting book. The attraction between Sean and Veronica is powerful and enchanting. When the two of them finally let down their guard and give in to their emotions, their coming together is as wild and exciting as the thunder roaring outside. While their “date” started out as a manipulated match through the 1Night Stand company, the spark between Sean and Veronica had been festering for quite some time. They just needed a little nudge in the right direction. After that, there was no turning back. Unlike a lot of “quickie” books, I think there’s a definite future for Sean and Veronica, the rest was just pure fun.

If you’re looking for a fast read that will get your heart racing and add a bit of excitement to you day, then grab a copy of Taryn Kincaid’s Thunder. The characters and their situation are interesting and entertaining. It was a fun, quick read, well worth my time.

I heard a “rumor” that the next book in this series is underway. Since I’m Taryn’s editor for these books, I can’t tell you how much I fell in love with them as we worked on them together. I’m sure the next installment in the Sleepy Hollow series will make you as happy as this one did!
