After growing up without a father, wannabe-bride Wendy Weston will do anything to secure a husband, even chase down the man who ran away the night before their wedding. But in order to find him, she must turn to the guy who makes her knees weak—uber-sexy best man Marco DeLuca.

Marco has kept his attraction to his cousin’s woman under wraps. When the wedding implodes, he helps Wendy track down Paul in Aruba to get some closure. But once on the island, neither of them can deny their strong attraction, and they spend the night engaged in the hottest sex Wendy has ever had.

Wendy worries that maybe she’s moving too quickly, but after experiencing the best sex of her life, she discovers what she’s been living without during her obsessive search for a husband. And realizes Marco is the very best man to give it to her…

What one wishes for is not always what one needs. And this was the exact case with the heroine of this novel, Wendy. Wendy wanted so desperately to marry, that even after two failed attempts she was brave enough (or stupid, it depends on the point of view) to try it for the third time. Of course the third time was no charm for her; again the bad luck. And what Wendy needs is Marco and hot sex with him, luckily she got that in the end.

There are many things to like about this novella, and the first is definitely Marco. Second is the development of the romance between Marco and Wendy. Then one should not forget the great love scenes full of hot sex.

Let me start with Marco. On one hand he is definitely an alpha, but on the other he is patient, willing to help and great in bed. While I fell in love with Marco from the first page, Wendy was a totally different story for me.

At first she was this stubborn-as-hell person who thought that being married was the greatest achievement. Not only that, but she expects it to bring instant happiness for the rest of her life. I was pretty upset that Wendy was so focused on her ex-fiancé that she never seemed to notice Marco and all his great qualities. But what bothered me even more was her determination to get married to the guy who ditched her at the altar. I did not like her persistence.

What was great is that at the end of the novella she had grown and changed to become a woman who finally realized that she could be happy in a meaningful relationship with a great guy. Especially when it’s a relationship full of love and mutual respect that is included with the hot sex.

There are some minor illogicalities in the story, like how was it that Marco, who was the best man to Wendy’s groom, did not know that Paul had no intention to marry Wendy? But they are minor, and didn’t really affect my enjoyment of the story.

The Very Best Man is the kind of erotic romance that I enjoy a lot. It has the right proportion of romance on one side and great hot sex on the other side. I’m strongly recommending it.
