Isaiah wakes up to the news that he’s now a guardian to a brother he knew nothing about, so starts their journey to become a family. He’s loved and respected his boss from afar and when you add in a child who can make anyone a friend, you see the beginnings of a family.

I was hooked from the very first page. Something about Isaiah and Grady loving each other but not acting on it for so many years, just made me root for them. Throw in a child who’s determined to have the family he’s always wanted and you can’t help but fall in love. This isn’t an action packed or even a super steamy read, it’s heartwarming with just the right amount of spice thrown in. Grady and Isaiah have to overcome the challenges that living in a ranching community in Wyoming while gay and that part of the story is handled in a way that’s very believable. I easily saw how hard it would be to Grady who grew up in Wyoming to be okay being openly gay, while Isaiah, a transplant for California, wouldn’t have the same hang ups. If I were to complain about anything, it’s that at times I wanted to smack Grady for being so hard on himself, but that just goes to show how much I came to care for these characters.

I will definitely pick up more KM Mahoney’s books in the future; I’ve been won over by the emotion and exceptional story telling. I hope there are more books on this ranch because I really want Tommy to get his story. If you love your romance with a lot of heart and some spice, then you need to read this.
