Only recently did I discover the first book in the Spare Heirs series and I found it quite fun, thrilling and entertaining. I believe there might be 2 more books in the series so I know what I’m getting myself for the perfect holiday read. Nothing like reading a good book to make a vacation perfect, right?

The Infamous Heir presented a very interesting premise starting off with a returning prodigal son which then proceeded to discover a murder, a plethora of intrigue, misplaced loyalty, unrequited love and plans going awry in spectacular fashion.

The scene at Gentleman Jack’s was quite steamy and delicious. The reason for overturning a tree or two is delightful and wicked, and the reasons why Ethan and Roselyn are perfect for each other were made clear by means of mud. It’s the little details that create the sense that the hero and heroine truly love each other. It’s those same details that cause a boatload of problems and what made this novel a treat to read.

As for the villains – one is made clear and is easy to figure out but as to the other, the author tricked me. I figured out who the other one was but I didn’t have even a hint as to how dastardly, twisted and demented a role the miscreant played. It was not until the end, when all the major players were on stage for the dramatic confrontation did I realize how clever Ms. Michaels played her hand. Great writing!

Historical romantic suspense fans are missing out if they haven’t discovered this book or this series. I feel so lucky to have found it! The Infamous Heir made this reader’s afternoon completely fly by. I had a wonderful time! I hope other readers find the same level of enjoyment I had when they pick up their own copy. I truly recommend reading it.
