Unlike most twinks, Brett doesn’t sub, which makes it difficult for him to find boyfriends, and is why he was so reluctant to dump his loser (now ex-) boyfriend.

Still, Brett’s more than attracted to Damien, but fears there’s no possibility of a relationship between them. Damien’s very vanilla, and Brett’s not a sub by any stretch of the imagination. Poor Brett is about to resign himself to a life of hook-ups when a fateful party turns his entire world upside down.

Brett Thomas is struggling not to mope about his broken relationship to his friend and roommate, Kirby. Being a good friend, Kirby wants Brett to meet one of his friends, Damien. But on the night of the break up Brett had got incredibly drunk, then made an idiot of himself in front of Damien, so Brett had no desire to inflict himself on the young man again. Damien was a sweet, patient and understanding guy – and finally Kirby bullies Brett into coming out for coffee. Despite the fact Brett never bottoms, he finds himself strangely attracted to the strength in Damien, in his natural take charge attitude. It’s confusing, but deliciously appealing at the same time.

This is a fun but realistic short story. Brett is a young, conflicted man sorting himself out and learning what he likes and needs from a partner. Damien is a strong character, patient and kind and a perfect top. The sexual tension between them is built amazingly well. This story isn’t rushed, despite its short length. The author has done a good job not only introducing and writing the characters, but giving them the time to get comfortable with each other and show the reader all the ways they’re compatible and work well together. At the costume party where Brett and Damien finally get together it’s well worth the wait and a smoking hot scene. Definitely keep some cool water handy or be prepared to need an icy shower afterwards. This was a fantastic, sexy scene and coming after all the build up was just brilliant.

With awesome sexual tension and a great cast of characters this is an awesome story, well written and super hot. I really enjoyed it.
