This isn’t the first book I have read by Cassandra Carr and as ever her voice is an easy to read style that pulls you into the story. I like hockey books and I like hockey players so it’s always a win win for me, and if gay romance is also your thing (it is mine) then this should hit the spot for you.

The plot is relationship focused but that’s not to say there isn’t some drama, too, how could there not be when the Olympics are involved? Not loads of on-ice hockey action, there is definitely more bedroom action, but hey, that’s what I picked this book up for!

I liked both characters, their banter and dialogue particularly. They were both unique, both having fun and also not afraid once they’d solidified their feelings to express them. There was one sex scene on a hot air grid that I found a bit odd, partly because it was sex in public (risky because of their predicament) and also because I couldn’t quite picture the scene, maybe I’m just not familiar with those grids. But other than that I lapped up everything about See the Light. It had a balanced flow, a sexy feel to it, and an end that wrapped up all the loose ends that it could, though lets face it, it’s never going to be easy for athletes in the big four to come out of the closet without any upset.

See the Light is a great get-your-teeth-into m/m novel that ticks all the boxes and will leave you feeling like you really know the two main characters and have had a good romp in the bedroom with them. I recommend it for not just m/m romance fans but also sports romance fans. Great job.
