I enjoyed reading this novel more so than I thought I would. The chemistry between Mona and Terrance felt real and refreshing. Their ups and downs were kind of tiresome, though. Some of the misunderstandings could have been avoided by more communication and less assuming. Terrence is displayed as a dream man. He is hard working, nice dresser and once he found the woman he wanted he was committed. The attraction between Mona and Terrance made the book enjoyable seeing how they compliments each other.

The twist with Mona’s ex-fiance coming back into the picture made for an interesting story. Mona was too nice and understanding of Garrett’s explanation. I wanted her to question him to see why he took what his mother said and stopped pursuing Mona back then and why now all of a sudden he has it in his mind that they can pick up where they left off.

Garrett added dramatic climax to the story. Terrence’s mom Sara added even more excitement to the book. She was a character that wasn’t to kind to any woman trying to get close to her son. I am glad her fiance has a strong male character to help handle her meddling in Terrance’s affairs.

I enjoyed this novel. The author has a easy to read and follow writing style. The plot was entertaining and kept my interest.

Secret Liaisons is an enjoyable read that is more than your typical romance.
