Kate Pacinelli has been infatuated with fellow flight attendant Stephanie Carlson for months. While Kate is out, Steph’s preferences are a mystery. The former cheerleader has a complicated, bisexual past.

It’s a smooth ride for both women until a rough landing shakes them up and changes their relationship.

Hot sex in private doesn’t translate to the public relationship Kate is looking for. She’s fallen for women afraid to come out before and won’t have her heart toyed with again. When Steph avoids conversations and labels with expert seduction, Kate refuses to play closet games. Steph will have to come out or risk losing Kate for good.

It’s hard to figure out someone else’s sexual orientation when they never give out any hints about it, but that isn’t about to stop Kate from putting all of the pieces together.

I immediately liked Kate’s honest, no-nonsense approach to life. She seems like the kind of person who always lets other people know where they stand with her rather than making them guess. It was the perfect attitude for this character to have, especially given all of the drama that is about to come her way.

Quite a few stereotypes about bisexual women were included in this story. It’s one thing to acknowledge their existence, but I was surprised by how easily the characters assumed they were true and should be applied to everyone who is attracted to more than one gender. Given everything else these characters reveal about themselves, these preconceived ideas felt even more out of place for their personalities and the plot than they would have otherwise.

The chemistry in this tale was explosive. Stephanie and Kate are a great match for each other in bed. While I was initially surprised by how their physical relationship begins, enough tension was built up beforehand for it to make sense. Writing it that way also lead to some pretty intense scenes, and once I knew where the author was headed I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Rough Landing is a good choice for anyone in the mood for something short and hot. Why not give it a try today?
