Protecting His Pride is a quick delicious read. I really enjoyed the premise of a falcon shifter who hates cats finding his mate in a lion shifter. Ms. Kell pulls it off beautifully. The story refers back to events in other books, since this is book seven in Amber Kell’s Supernatural Mates series, so full enjoyment will come from reading the whole series, but I think this could be picked up and read as a stand-alone story.

Cesar is so sweet, that he doesn’t seem like the typical alpha male but he is the one that his pride wants to follow. Garret Halcon is the perfect mate for the big lion shifter. They quickly fall in love and the way they work together just shows that they’ll easily live together happily for years to come.

I recommend this story for fans of M/M romance and stories that have unique characters. I really enjoyed this story, and hope that some of the new characters introduced will get their stories told soon.
