Tami is a courageous, self-confident, vibrant, and hard working woman. She acts without thinking, like when she attacks Briggs with a cast iron pan to save Briggs’ wife. She meets Lieutenant Kevin Smith. There is instant attraction between the two. She is wary of involving Kevin in her life. Tami is the type of person that keeps Kevin on his toes. The author did a great job making Tami very realistic. In addition, the things she does not tell Kevin until later that prove to be a bigger deal than she originally thought was very realistic.
Kevin is a police officer who frequents the local dinner because he is attracted the waitress. Kevin is the man that all our parents always wanted us to find and marry. He has rules that he lives by and lives by them. Kevin goes above and beyond to prove to Tami that they are a good match. The chemistry between Tami and Kevin is great. Kevin stands by Tami no matter how much she tries to push him away.
The author did a wonderful job mixing romance, and mystery together to create this book. This book has a something for everyone in it. This was a book that I had a hard time putting down. I cannot wait to read the next book by this author.
