Billionaire businessman, Cal Sellers, knows how to get what he wants. And what he wants is Lucy Monroe. The problem? He had her once and lost her with one careless, arrogant act. And now she’s standing in his office demanding her old job back. Cal has no intention of rehiring her as the co-host of his home shopping TV show, Pleasure at Home. He has an altogether different position in mind for her—as his wife.

If Lucy wasn’t so desperate she never would’ve stepped foot in Cal Sellers’s office, let alone the block his building stood on. Lucy’s a survivor who managed to break free of her ex’s terrible abuse, but now he’s back and more determined than ever. He wants their daughter, Poppy, and will stop at nothing to get his little girl back.

Lucy will do anything to protect her daughter, including marrying Cal Sellers. Against her better judgment, she agrees to Cal’s proposal and finds herself married to a very different man than the one who broke her heart two years ago. As Lucy’s ex grows bolder and more violent, Cal and Lucy find themselves fighting not only for Poppy, but for a forever love that could be the one thing that will save them all.

A second chance at love.

Cal Sellers loses the one person that he fell for and the one person he can’t have. More precisely if he does get involved with that person he would have to break his one important rule.

The story starts after the Cal loses Lucy. So, when she comes knocking back on his door, he vows to not to make the same mistakes he did before. Will he be able to fulfill this one promise he made to himself when he saw Lucy in his office demanding her job back or will history repeat itself?

Lush actually starts in the middle of these characters’ story but Ms. Yarnell did a wonderful job making sure this reader didn’t feel like half of the story was missing. I loved the whole story in general. The passion and the chemistry between Lucy and Cal is apparent from the very first meeting.

Lucy went through a lot of pain, both physical and mental, after her breakup with Cal. This shows up in her actions and way of thinking. The POV’s allowed me to see both sides of the story. That was a revelation and a wonderful plus in my opinion.

This is the second book in this series and even though I haven’t read the first book, I can safely say that it could be read as a stand-alone. There was one thing that I couldn’t quite understand. The title of the book. I am not entirely sure how Lush fit into this story even though it is very eye catching. That wasn’t an issue that took away from the enjoyment of the story. Just noticeable.

I would recommend Lush to any readers who love second chance stories.
