British billionaire Lars Rutherford came to the tiny island of Mauritius to take over directorship of his best friend’s shipping company. He’s not here for anything but the job, or—to the chagrin of the many matchmaking society mamas in the country—to find the ‘right woman’ for him.

Corporate legal affairs specialist Simmi Moyer is rich, beautiful, successful, and climbing the executive ladder with tremendous speed. She’s got it all—or does she? Mauritian society shuns her for being single and childless, and nothing she accomplishes will ever be enough.

Lars isn’t looking for a woman; Simmi isn’t looking for a man. Both just want one night to forget their precarious position in this traditional, culture-driven society.

The tempest, brewed by uncalled-for yearning in their hearts and the desire for something more substantial than one night of pleasure, builds between them, while outside, a real-life cyclone storms the island and ensconces them in a world where only the two of them exist.

Before the night is over, both Lars and Simmi will have to decide whether each will walk out the next morning alone, or if they can put themselves on the line to step out together.

Lars Rutherford found himself on the island of Mauritius for the last seven and a half months setting up a new shipping division for his friend and partner, Stellen Elrikson who had taken over his father’s business. The three of them Lars, Stellen and Magnus had been friends since birth, their mothers calling them the Three Musketeers. Magnus knew that Lars was all work and no play so he decided to get in touch with Madam Eve and arrange a one night stand for him. After all, in Magnus’ mind all Lars needed to get his blood going was good shag.

As vice president of Legal Affairs Simmi Moyer was a force to be reckoned with. The men that she knew were intimidated by her, women were jealous of her success, and the older women let her know that her biological clock was ticking away as she reached for success. Simmi also called to setup a one night stand hoping that she could get her needs met then walk away without any residual effects. What she didn’t count on was the Nordic god she encountered in the form of Lars Rutherford.

This was an enjoyable read, the story was well written and the characters were engaging. Lars recognized Simmi even though she did not tell him her name because she did not want to personalize their encounter. She did know that after their first encounter he would be hard to forget. This story moved smoothly and though it was only 41 pages long you got a good tale, one that had you smiling and rooting for the couple. Even the supporting characters like Stellen and Magnus were fun especially in the beginning of the story with their interaction with Lars. This reader would recommend this but don’t take my word for it, grab a copy and see for yourself, you will be glad you did.

And fyi, both Magnus and Stellan have their stories in the works. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy seeing them in their own tale next year.
