Love takes wing faster than a Raven in flight.

Amanda Pierson’s long-overdue holiday at the Dunne farm unexpectedly turns into a working vacation when she’s roped into throwing together a last-minute dream wedding for Michaela Exton and Robin Goodfellow. No biggie for one of the best party planners at Fantasy Events, Inc., right?

Right.

Never More is the next book in Dana Marie Bell’s Gray Court series. It is Raven and Amanda’s story, but there is a wedding in the works, for Robin and Michaela as well.

Acting as the best man at his father’s wedding, Raven Goodfellow is determined to make sure the day goes perfectly. After all, it isn’t every day that Robin Goodfellow, AKA The Hob, finds his truebond and agrees to a human ceremony for her family. The ceremony will be held at the Dunne farm, and Raven wants to make sure everything is secure and safe. When he meets Michaela’s wedding planner, Amanda Pierson, he realizes she is the blonde woman that he has been dreaming about, Ruby Dunne’s best friend. He also realizes something else; Amanda is something he never thought he would have, his truebond. But before he can act on the information, he discovers a plot to frame him for murder, and tie it to a threat to his father and Michaela. Now, Raven has to find a way to protect Amanda, stop his brother from killing him, defuse a djinn death trap and make sure his father’s wedding goes off without any problems. Oh, and hope Robin doesn’t put him in a pastel tuxedo for the wedding. Can Raven convince Amanda that he is meant to be her true mate, and she his? Will she think he is insane, or accept the supernatural beings around her? Can Raven and the rest of the wedding party keep disaster at bay for the day?

These books are set in the ‘real world’ but have paranormal overtones of the fae, vampires and shifters. I like this world, where human and other live together, and occasionally fall in love with each other. I enjoy each visit to this world, catching up on the families that have become friends of mine as Ms. Bell continues to expand this community of diverse beings.

Raven Goodfellow is the dark and handsome son of Robin Goodfellow, and still can’t believe that he has been accepted by the one man he thought had sold him. He wants what his father has found, the love of a good woman, but he believes it is not in his future to be loved. Until he meets Amanda, and she throws his world in turmoil. He quickly discovers he needs to protect and cherish her, like his father does Michaela. He was once the Dark Queen’s most formidable weapon, now he will use those powers to protect and defend those he cares about. I love Raven’s unswerving loyalty to those he care about, and his determination to protect and defend those weaker than he is. I loved watching as he worked to convince Amanda he wasn’t crazy at all, just something different.

Amanda Pierson is Ruby Dunne’s best friend in the world, and she has no idea that these attractive people she is planning a wedding for are more than human. When Raven tells her about the hidden reality for most of them, she thinks he is crazy, and is sad, because she was attracted to him more than any man before. But Amanda doesn’t do crazy, and is ready to ignore her feelings, until Raven shows her his ‘other’ self, and tells her about the world around her. I like Amanda and her quirky sense of humor, and her independent nature. I like that she is willing to accept the proof when confronted, and her courage in the face of danger.

There is danger around every corner in this one. There is the trap set by Raven’s evil brother at the site of the ceremony, there is the plot to frame Raven for the fae murders, and there is also a death threat to Raven from the Dark Queen. But there is also lots of humor, laughter and passion in this one, and a side of Raven and Liam (aka Big Red) that shows a lighter side of both men. There are all kinds of paranormal beings to discover; fae, leprechauns, dragons, mer folk, vampires and many more, living, laughing and falling in love. And there is the Wedding of the Ages for Robin and Michaela, and I was delighted to meet Michaela’s human family in this…her sister and two brothers, who became an integral part of the family quite easily. I enjoy each new episode of Ms Bell’s Gray Court series, and look forward to the next one with little patience. I recommend this for all those who loved fairy tales and fantasies, and want them to be just a bit more grown up.
