Gabriel is Regina’s assistant and the object of her fantasy. Short of being good at his job and very good looking, we’re told little else of Gabriel.
There were many good aspects to this story. I enjoyed the progression of the relationship and the gradual wearing away of resistance. Regina is a very strong woman, determined to be in control at all times. Watching her learn that’s not possible was intriguing. The sex, of course, was very hot and the way Gabriel broke through Regina’s defenses was steamy and sweet at the same time.
There were also some negatives which kept me from fully investing myself in the book. It was told solely through Regina’s point of view, which is not necessarily bad, but I didn’t feel I got to know much about Gabriel because of it. Regina was hard for me to like, since it seemed she was not very good at her job and I got the impression she took credit for work Gabriel may have been responsible for.
Because of the limited number of pages, there were glimpses of back story, explaining Regina’s hesitancy, but I didn’t get much of a feel of the relationship between Regina and Gabriel prior to the 1Night Stand-other than a working relationship. Regina was sexually attracted to Gabriel, that was obvious, but there seemed to be little beyond the physical. And because we didn’t get any of Gabriel’s point of view, I am not sure what his thoughts were before he discovered Regina’s fantasy.
I enjoyed the story as a whole. Despite its shortfalls, for a short, hot one night stand, this one hits the spot.
