Elise Campbell wants to learn how to ice skate. It’s one of the many things—like biking and swimming—she never learned how to do in her screwed up childhood.

When she goes to the outdoor rink one brutally cold morning in January, she hopes no one will be there to see her fall all over the ice. Instead she meets Zach, who’s so sexy that looking at him makes her fall even more.

Zach Adams is trying to work off his anger over the tragic death of his best friend. He’s tired of punishing his body at the gym, so he goes to the rink instead, where he ends up helping a cute woman who’s never been skating before.

He continues to meet her every Sunday to teach her how to skate, even though he knows he’s no good for her. His best friend was the relationship man, the family man. Zach never wanted anything serious, and his lone relationship was a disaster. But he can’t ignore the way things have been heating up on the ice with Elise.

The synopsis for Meet Me on the Ice intrigued me and piqued my interest, particularly because Elise Campbell, the heroine, sounded like a woman that I could relate to. A beautiful, courageous woman who chose to not to let her past define her future.

The synopsis further appealed to my curiosity when it mentioned how Elise was going to meet the hero, Zach Adams – a sexy man overcoming his own obstacles in life. I thought it was a brilliant hook and I was caught.

I was very pleased to find an original plot that was well written and flowed at a consistent moderate pace. The love story between Elise and Zach was sweet and spicy at the same time. Both characters were well developed and lovable. I was cheering for Zach and Elise to reach their happy ever ending and I wasn’t disappointed.

I definitely recommend this book if you want to enjoy reading a love story full of romance with a hero that will give you spicy dreams for many future nights.
