Madden Moon knows what the woman is the second she walks into the old café. Shifter. Wolf. Trouble. Struck by her beauty and the air of exhaustion about her, the leader of the Texas Rogues wishes her straight out of town. But as the mating energy of their species sizzles between them and her enemies approach, Madden has no alternative but to bring the beautiful lycan under his protection and into his bed.

Runaway Lana Vronski is in big trouble. As she races through the woods, local wolves in hot pursuit, she believes all is lost until she’s rescued by oh-so-sexy Madden. When he offers her sanctuary and sex hot enough to singe them both, she accepts his proposal. But it isn’t until the mating heat between them burns wildly out of control that Lana learns her true salvation awaits in his arms. Lana’s enemies are relentless, however, and will stop at nothing to rip her from the arms of the man she loves.

Ms. Carlysle continues to impress her readers with her explosive wolf-shifter tales of ignitable passion and desire in this sixth installment of her High Plains Shifter series. I find her fictional world development both fascinating and imaginative. I keep finding myself searching for wolf traits in my own personality half-hoping that I might be a long lost shifter at heart so that I too might have a destine wolf-mate waiting in the wings. I have grown to love this series and look forward to each new saga that she writes.

The dialogue in Mad Moon is witty, edgy and hot and the banter between the wolf-shifters is emotionally charged with enough electrical sizzle to power up an entire town. Madden Moon and Lana Vronski are two memorable characters that this reader will not soon forget.

The sexy alpha leader of the Texas Rogues, Madden Moon finds his wolf-mate when she literally walks into his town trying to escape from her troubles. The problem with Lana’s plan is that trouble is determined to find her no matter how far she runs. When Madden and Lana discover the mating heat means a destined match of forever mates, can Madden protect the “love-of-his-life” when the odds seem to be stacked against them?

I love the dynamics of the human traits that Ms. Carlysle adds to her werewolf characters. Madden is a take-charge born leader who faces danger with an air of authority, yet he is tender and loving with his mate. Lana still has much to learn in life but she is open to the fact that her life has changed forever when she passes through the little Texas town where werewolf and human both live and work together. The secondary characters in this book are insightful and informative and the evil werewolves were scary and riveting.  I am also impressed that each book covers enough background material to insure that it can be a stand alone novel in itself.

Looking for an enchanting fable with scintillating and enigmatic plots and a succulent romance that engages your imagination and satisfies your sense of adventure? Then Mad Moon might be the book that outshines all other moons. I think many will truly enjoy this spicy novel.
