Jilted in January is an all-too-accurate title.

It’s mid-winter and poor Harper Shaw is most decidedly alone, not on her honeymoon, and not with the love of her life. She does have best friend Audrey – and their conversations are realistic and revealing. She also has a problem – getting what funds back she can, from the various would-be wedding venues. One of those, and a dear man named Grant, manage to involve her in their problems…and slowly… we begin to hope for Harper’s future. This is really a nice, focused romance, with a bit of an unusual twist.

I truly hated the jump in point-of-view in this one: it so interrupted the flow of the story. I was already too attached to Harper and interested in her next move. On the other hand, I loved how Harper’s best friend was never forgotten. Aside from this issue, it was a pleasant story.

I have to think this the perfect beach read: Perfect length, and nice to be sitting on white sands while the main character is dreaming of them.
