Jake Conway is good with his hands. A veterinarian known for his gentle touch, he’s also the most eligible bachelor in Wyoming. But like any wild animal, Jake longs to roam free . . . until a sultry redhead with a smile from here to heaven turns up in town.

When her estranged father dies, Meg Stanford inherits his rustic ranch-and all the painful memories that come with it. She’s determined to settle the estate and face down the ghosts of her past. But a series of midnight break-ins have Meg running from the ranch-and into the arms of the sexy cowboy next door. As their passion grows hotter, the attacks grow bolder. Can Jake keep her safe, or will he lose the only woman he’s ever loved?

Engaging from the start, Jake is an altogether satisfying contemporary romance, especially if you like your heroes in cowboy boots.

First, I have to say that I haven’t read the other books in the series, and though I was aware as I read that there was backstory I was missing (mostly about a long missing family member), I never felt lost. Jake very strongly stands on its own, though I have every intention of going back and reading the others now.
Infertility – An Overview: If you and your partner are actually trying something new, a buy viagra overnight deeprootsmag.org lack of information about normal sexual functioning and subsequent anxiety and preoccupation over performance during sexual interactions. Our hero, Jake, was just swoonworthy. Hunky, thoughtful, caring, insightful … oh, I definitely fell just as much in love with him as Meg ends up doing. He’s not perfect, he certainly has flaws, but they’re easily overlooked when he helps a dog have her puppies, cares for an ill horse or takes a small, lost boy under his wing.

Meg starts out a bit harsh, but it’s understandable from the position she finds herself forced into. She’s a little lost, sad and angry and finds herself bother sister and surrogate mother to a brother she didn’t know she had when her estranged father dies.

The large secondary cast of characters is just as memorable. I loved Jake’s family and wish I could have been there for a hearty meal at least once. They’re fun, real, loud and crazy — just the way I like family. So well done!

The romance is just as touching, with plenty of smoldering tension throughout. Jake is hot, hot, hot and how Meg was able to resist for so long, I have no idea.

While they mystery may not have been as strong as the rest, I honestly didn’t care. I was so completely enthralled with the superb characters, I would have continued reading no matter what.

If you’re looking for a romance with a sexy, sweet cowboy who loves his family, animals and his woman — who happens to be an intelligent, competent feisty thing, and if you’re fond of books that have large casts of well drawn characters, I highly recommend Jake. It was one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read in a long time.
