Is self-confessed control freak Elena able to let go of her fears to win her heart’s desire—the enigmatic billionaire Charles Hunt—a man who requires nothing less than her absolute submission?

When feisty wild child Elena Meadows is invited to Cannes by her uncle Henry, the timing couldn’t be better. A successful interior designer in London, Elena is a stout believer in the old adage work hard, play harder, but her fast-paced lifestyle is beginning to take its toll. A week basking in the heat of the French Riviera sounds like the perfect way to recharge, but upon her arrival she discovers that Henry has been inadvertently called away leaving his business partner Charles Hunt to man the helm. Elena has always been attracted to the American billionaire, but found his dominant personality at odds with her own.

Charles has never hidden his desire for Elena, but will accept nothing less than her absolute submission. If Elena could learn to relinquish control, they would make a formidable couple, but breaking the habit of a lifetime doesn’t come easy for a self-confessed control freak even though the sexual tension between them sizzles hotter than the midday sun.

It’s good sometimes to accept that reality is better than fantasy and there really is nothing to be afraid of!

Elena Meadows is a successful, independent business woman who’s strived to achieve her career goals in the world of interior design, but one thing is lacking in her life – love and lust and a good does of R&R. So when her uncle sets her up a nice little holiday in the South of France the last thing she expects is the love and lust to go with the R&R. Just as well that very satisfying result comes in the form of Charles Hunt, a man she’s been quietly simmering a flame for, for years. Trouble is, she’s heard about him and what he expects of his women, which is why she’s steered clear. Fear of the unknown is a powerful motivator.

Hot For Him is a billionaire story (yes I think they are a sub-genre these days) but unlike a certain other book that will not be mentioned, the heroine Elena is intelligent, sassy and can pay her own bills. I enjoyed the set up of this story, the relationship between Charles and Elena and the voice is fresh and the plot fast paced. I would have perhaps liked a little mention of Charles – as we were in Elena’s head to begin with – before he actually appeared. I felt I was getting to know her and then suddenly there was this massive fact of a man she’d been dreaming about for years suddenly jumping onto the page the same time he did. But that’s a minor quibble because Charles’ character was bright and vivid and I soon found myself quite taken with him.

I enjoyed how the author handled her heroine’s wariness of the whole BDSM lifestyle. Hot For Him is only a short story, so there isn’t masses of details and scenes, but what there is works just fine. The writing is competent, the story perfectly satisfying and if you’re looking for a rich guy who likes to introduce girls to the delights of submitting then this might just be the story for you.
