There’s more than one way to imprison a man.

Daniel Edmonds spent almost a decade in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. After finally having his name cleared, he’d hoped things would get easier, but people still look at him like he’s a murderer, and talk about him in hushed voices as he walks past. When he discovers that he really can’t go home again, he has to decide what to do to survive.

Adapting to the outside world isn’t easy, especially for a man alone.

Fear of temptation to fall back into his old ways scares Daniel into near-seclusion. When given the chance to help his brother Duke and brother-in-law, Frankie, Daniel agrees. His pride takes a hit when he has to let them buy his plane ticket to Montana, but Daniel’s learning that family is more important than anything else.

That’s what he tells himself, although maybe he’s running, just a little, and not just trying to help Duke and Frankie. One thing is for certain—he doesn’t mind spending a little time on the Mossy Glenn Ranch.

Hector Gallegos works hard and keeps his head down. He hasn’t been interested in more than the occasional hook-up here and there. He’s growing tired of that lifestyle, though, after seeing so many happy couples—and one treble—at the Mossy Glenn.

When Dan Edmonds shows up to visit his brother, Duke, Hector can’t help but notice the man. Dan’s scarred face doesn’t dim the attraction that immediately flares between him and Hector.

Lust comes easy, but building something that will last is a challenge.

Scars and jail time what could be worse for a man trying to start a new life. At least Dan has been proven innocent of the crime that he paid dearly for. A crocked cop forever changed Dan’s life when he was a young man. He has a chance at a new beginning now if he can leave his past where it belongs and grab for a new life. Love comes his way through his brother but the two are still on shaky ground. Circumstances have Dan heading out to help his brother and once he arrives he meets a man that can change Dan’s life once again if he only gives him the chance. Can Dan find a way to heal or is he lost to his past and pain?

Hector sees the man, not the scars. From the first time he sees Dan, Hector is lost. He longs for more than just a fling with Dan but Hector knows Dan is only here to visit so he will take what he can get. I enjoyed meeting both Hector and Dan. Each man is something on his own and together they make a great couple. The sparks fly from the start and it was nice to watch their relationship grow into something stronger.

Not only do Hector and Dan have a story to tell but the secondary characters have their say as well. I really liked Joaquin and hope he finds his own happiness. There were also some interesting twists to this story. Some seemed to be quickly dropped and left this reader wondering what happened. Curt and his feelings and Sebastian’s storyline but maybe those issues will be addressed in another book. All in all this was a hot and romantic read that gives you hope in love and happy ever afters.
