Detective Marcus Kage has been working on a strange series of murders.  Each Jane Doe had been brutally killed and tattooed in an identical manner. Finally getting a lead, he’s drawn straight to Megaera Eumenides’ door at Furyous Ink. Meg is one of the Furies, and that’s the final coincidence Marcus can handle. He’s known with his Lupine extra senses that there was a supernatural bent to the investigation but has been unable to get far. When Marcus interviews Meg about the latest victim she realizes it’s a friend, and becomes personally involved and determined to hunt down the killer and dispense her own brand of justice. Each need to tread carefully around the paranormal minefield they find themselves in, but the passion exploding between them can certainly help ease the way.

This is a fun and intense paranormal mystery book. Full of arcane law, Greek myths and a sprinkling of modernization, it’s a fast-paced story that I greatly enjoyed. Meg is a strong, modern heroine and Marcus is gallant enough to still have White Knight tendencies but isn’t a pushover – equal in strength to Meg and an alpha werewolf to boot. The sex is really well balanced with the plot of a serial killer and under-the-radar war going on between two factions of the paranormal community. Despite it sounding like a clichéd Paranormal it’s not. This is a fresh outlook on a supernatural world in conjunction with the mortal reality.

With plenty of spice, sexual tension and the classic mystery-to-save-the-damsel’s this is a fun, interesting read that will satisfy a broad range of tastes. Highly Recommended.
